I don't do my blog or Google communities on Sundays. I am not feeling particularly well today anyway and neither is David. I did want you to know I'm thinking about you and praying for each and everyone that any struggles you face, you will have the strength to overcome and that I will celebrate your victories with you. We were taught on the book of First Corinthians and how immature and, well, out of touch they were Spiritually. I see that in a lot of churches today. Read the Word of God, be grounded in it and be assured that you are truly in the faith. I do a review every now and then, thinking I'm doing so great but I fail the test each and every time. That's where the POWER of the Gospel of Salvation comes in. We try to do right, we don't lie (well, we cut down a lot), we don't kill but yet we get angry over a word that someone calls you. Jesus said that's murder. So He had to die to fulfill all the laws because we humans can't. He had to make a way to be reconciled to us. Easter, or what I call our VICTORY DAY is coming soon. Please meditate on what He really did that horrible day on the Cross and the perfection of His resurrection and what it means to you.
See, we can't do even 10 simple, moral laws. We lie, cheat, steal, blaspheme God, we look at others with lust (just admit it, people, we don't mean to but we do), and did you always honor your parents? If they're still alive, do you honor them today? If so, good because I see that so rarely these days. No one respects anyone except their "idols" and role models such as celebrities, famous athletes. Teach your children to choose their mentors or role models wisely. These famous people have proven over and over again they are not worthy of honor. The woman next door who feeds God's creatures that have been abandoned, goes to church and helps the needy, she is worthy of honor. Men and women who put their lives on the line to keep us safe, they are worthy of honor. Choose people who won't let you down; teach you the importance of being honest, self-respect, giving back and knowing that there's something bigger and better than you. And yes, we ARE our brother's keeper.
Somewhere in the Bible there's a verse that goes something like this..."Raise your child in the way it should go and they will never depart from it." They key here, lead by example. Show them you believe what you say by living it, breathing it and walking it every minute of the day. Never be ashamed to say "I'm sorry." Our children are living in a day and time where belief in Jesus Christ is not a popular thing to do. Equip your child with the knowledge that this is their fundamental right and to stand up when adversity comes their way. Be of good courage and cheer.
Have a very blessed day and be safe out there. Take heart that you are never going to be alone or forsaken. God bless you all.
Brenda
