AFTER THE FAMINE
By: Charlie Cameron on Google Plus
In Ruth 2, there’s a beautiful picture of harvest. Look back to Ruth 1:1 – “There was a famine in the land.” The Christian life’s like that. It’s not always harvest. Sometimes, it’s famine.
Sometimes, we feel like we’re on the mountain-top. At other times, we’re in the wilderness. Whatever your circumstances, remember this – God knows what’s best for you. In the happy times and the testing times, be sure of this – God is not far from you, He’s with you, He loves you and He wants to bless you. When it seems like nothing’s going right for you, take time to think about what the Lord has done for you and give thanks to Him.
When things are going well, don’t take God’s blessing for granted. He can withdraw His blessing from us if we don’t give thanks to Him – that’s the warning Jesus gives us in the parable of the rich fool (Luke 12:13-21).
When things are going badly, don’t let your head go down. Don’t start thinking that God’s blessing will never return
In the happy times and the testing times, let’s count our blessings. Sometimes, we think that we can decide when we’re going to rejoice and when we’re going to complain. God says, “Rejoice in the Lord always” (Philippians 4:4). This is joy in the Lord. It doesn’t depend on us. It comes from the Lord. Good things may happen to us. Bad things may happen to us. In the good times and the bad times, let us “rejoice in the Lord.”
In the Lord’s Prayer, we pray, “Give us this day our daily bread.” What we’re saying is this. We depend on the Lord. Every good gift comes from Him. Without His blessing, our life is empty. Our life may seem to be full of good things. If Christ isn’t living in us, our life is empty. Don’t be like the rich fool. He lost everything that mattered to him. Life is more than things. We can’t take them with us. Real life is Jesus living in us. It’s the beginning of eternal life.

TRUE REPENTENCE
By: Unashamed of Jesus
As a dog returns to its vomit, so fools repeat their folly. Proverbs 26:11
Does it feel like you keep getting stuck in the same circumstances? Do you continually fall for the same traps? This proverb is probably not the most popular but it’s very true. We want to live a blessed and peaceful life however we keep falling for the same addictions and diseases that caused us these hardships. What we need is true repentance if we want to see God work in our lives
Many times when we hear the word “repent” we think confess our sins to God and that’s it. But the true Biblical meaning of repentance is to change is to change our minds and actions (Luke 3) To just confess your sins but not change your actions would be useless. When we truly accept Christ and repent, we become transformed (Romans 12:2) and a new creature (2 Corinthians 5:17) Remember God reads our hearts and minds (Romans 8:27) if you say you are a Christian but your actions don’t show it, God knows you’re a liar
The Biblical meaning of the word “Folly” means weakness, thoughtless procedure, meaning what your sin of choice is. So if your addicted to pornography, even though you thought you repented, you continually return to that sin of pornography. You are then the dog returning to his own vomit, how can you believe your life will be any different if you don’t cut out your sin or folly? Jesus taight us whatever it is that makes us sin to “Cut it Out” (Matthew 5:29-30) Does that mean it will be easy? No, but as Jesus said its better to go without now than to lose your soul forever.
Repent for the Kingdom of God is at hand , stop returning to your folly, allow Christ into your heart and become transformed in Jesus Name Amen
"FOR YE ARE SAVED BY GRACE THROUGH FAITH, AND NOT OF YOURSELVES. IT IS A GIFT OF GOD. NOT OF WORKS NOR DEEDS LEST ANY MAN SHOULD BOAST."
Ephesians 2:8-9

Today’s Reading: Isaiah 47; 1 Thessalonians 4
Today’s Thoughts: Living through the San Diego Fires
When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, Nor shall the flame scorch you. - >Isaiah 43:3
During the worship session at a retreat, I showed Bobbye the verses from Isaiah 43:1-3. Well, the very next song that the worship leader played quoted the very same passage of Scripture in Isaiah. We knew that the Lord was getting our attention. God was speaking to us through the Scriptures. After the worship was over, Bobbye and I were next on the schedule to speak. We shared with the ladies the passage in Isaiah 43, knowing that “By the mouth of two or three witnesses every word shall be established.” We did not realize the significance these verses would soon have. This was one of those times that we had ears to hear but it was difficult to discern if the message was literal or figurative. We all seemed to be content with believing that there are no coincidences with God and He uses people to speak and confirm His Words to others, through others. No one that I knew of, including myself, asked the Lord to clarify this message any further. In hindsight, we should have been asking, seeking and knocking to not only know His Word but to also know His Will. Why was He was giving these verses to us? Are the verses for our spiritual well being or are these verses God’s Will to be accomplished on earth as it is in heaven...today? The reason for the verses became perfectly clear as we headed down the mountain.
On Sunday morning, the Santa Ana winds were so strong we had difficulty packing up the car. Little did we know that >Isaiah 43:2 was not only a promise but a prophecy that was about to be fulfilled that day in all of our lives. Heading down the mountain, we heard that the fires had begun. We were about to be evacuated from our homes because of the fires and some of us would literally be “walk[ing] through the fire” as Isaiah 43:2 clearly states. At one given time, there were eight fires destroying the County of San Diego. Because fire is no respecter of persons, no one knew whose house would be next and no one could predict the path the fires would take. But we did know that God cared and that God had warned us up on the mountain. His desire was for us to know that He was with us, that these fires did not surprise Him, and He did not want us to fear. God speaks to us to comfort us and to bring peace regardless of the circumstance. The problem today is not that God is not speaking but that we are not listening. God wants us to know. He reveals His plans to His servants (Amos 3:7). God is willing to speak but are we ready to listen?

NEW BIBLE TRIVIA QUESTION - RIGHT HAND SIDE
I just posted a new Bible Trivia Question. It's in the same spot, underneath the Just As I Am Video on the right-hand side (which never changes day to day) and beneath a little on/off blue switch to my music player. PLEASE PLAY! I was the only one to answer last week. New question...
Which day was the Holy Spirit Given?
A. Tabernacles
B. Yom Kippur
C. Pentacost
D. Hannakuh
I really want to do a separate Bible Trivia page but it will take a lot of time and effort. I would love to do it but only if there's interest. I will make it fun, easy/hard, but always a fun way to learn. So please help me out. If you can't find it, let me know and I'll be glad to help. If I don't get any interest within the next few weeks, I'll stop. So, I pray you'll take a few minutes to play. You have to visit the page in order to answer. Please don't answer in a comment! God bless you all!

BIBLE APP FOR KIDS
I just wanted to share this app with you for those with children and/or grandchildren. In today's world, we need to teach them as early as possible. Children love games and especially on the computer. Since the internet and other technologies can be used for such horrific evil, let's never forget what He told us in Romans 8:28...
"For as we know, ALL things work to the good, for those who love the Lord and are called according to His purposes."
"Raise a child in the way in which it should go and he shall never depart from it."
I know these to be true as God never lies and I've seen it happen too often not to believe. The world will try to win but we've already won the war. The enemy wins a few battles but Jesus Christ defeated him on Calvary! God bless you all and there are also Bible apps for adults.

THINGS PERMITTED TO OTHER NATIONS ARE FORBIDDEN TO THE JEWS - THE WASHINGTON POST
Note by Brenda Alexander....This is a very hard subject for me. I saw a horrific newsreel in the 8th grade of a group of Jewish men, lined up, you could tell it was winter, not because of the snow and grayness but only because of how warmly the guards were dressed. Maybe there was snow on the ground or ashes from the crematorium from the camp. Maybe it was both. I don't know and I'm sure you don't want to hear it either. However, nothing I say here will even come close to describing the atrocity and horror of it. The men were completely naked. They literally looked like skeletons with skin on them. How they survived...and thrived...after this is ONLY by God's mercy and grace. He promised them they would be a nation again and He kept His promise. He never fails. I wish I could erase this picture from my mind but I cannot. In many ways, I don't want to ever forget it so it can never happen again. So, if anyone tells me this was a hoax, a gigantic Jewish conspiracy, tell them to go to hell. I'm sure millions and millions of Jews conspired to defile their bodies with tattoos (forbidden in the Jewish religion) to lie to the world and commit genocide. Yet we hear it year after year and each time more young people joining in. This makes me sad and very angry. What this man has to say has the ring of truth. It's also funny to me that people still believe the Bible is a lie. Almost every single prophecy has, in fact, occurred, is occurring now or will soon. The technology is in place. So, if you believe it's a lie, please tell me why ALL EYES ARE ON ISRAEL TODAY! G-D bless you all!
Eric Hoffer, writing in May 1968, quoted in Tom Bethell's "Eric Hoffer: The Longshoreman Philosopher" (2012):
The Jews are a peculiar people: things permitted to other nations are forbidden to the Jews.
Other nations drive out thousands, even millions of people and there is no refugee problem. Russia did it, Poland and Czechoslovakia did it. Turkey drove out a million Greeks and Algeria a million Frenchman. Indonesia threw out heaven knows how many Chinese—and no one says a word about refugees.
Please notice how small Israel is in comparPlePson to the nations surrounding it.
In square miles, Israel is roughly the size of Rhode Island!
But in the case of Israel, the displaced Arabs have become eternal refugees. Everyone insists that Israel must take back every single Arab. Arnold Toynbee calls the displacement of the Arabs an atrocity greater than any committed by the Nazis.
Other nations when victorious on the battlefield dictate peace terms. But when Israel is victorious, it must sue for peace. Everyone expects the Jews to be the only real Christians in this world.
Other nations, when they are defeated, survive and recover, but should Israel be defeated it would be destroyed. Had Nasser triumphed last June [1967], he would have wiped Israel off the map, and no one would have lifted a finger to save the Jews.
No commitment to the Jews by any government, including our own, is worth the paper it is written on. There is a cry of outrage all over the world when people die in Vietnam or when two Negroes are executed in Rhodesia. But when Hitler slaughtered Jews no one remonstrated with him.
Remembering the Holocaust
The Swedes, who are ready to break off diplomatic relations with America because of what we do in Vietnam, did not let out a peep when Hitler was slaughtering Jews. They sent Hitler choice iron ore and ball bearings, and serviced his troop trains to Norway.
The Jews are alone in the world. If Israel survives it will be solely because of Jewish efforts. And Jewish resources.
Yet at this moment, Israel is our only reliable and unconditional ally. We can rely more on Israel than Israel can rely on us. And one has only to imagine what would have happened last summer had the Arabs and their Russian backers won the war to realize how vital the survival of Israel is to America and the West in general.
I have a premonition that will not leave me; as it goes with Israel so will it go with all of us. Should Israel perish, the Holocaust will be upon us.
Israel, please forgive our so-called "president" Mr. Barry! He is not America!
WE THE PEOPLE ARE AMERICA! He doesn't speak for us. We have not now
nor ever will forsake you. You can count on us always, as the people and as America!
We will never forget so please don't forget us. It's true, we need YOU far more
than YOU will never need us. You are God's chosen people.
If God is for you, who can come against you?
G-D BLESS YOU!
