ARE FAITH HEALERS TODAY OF GOD?

I am listening to Pastor McGee's sermon on Spirituality, Satanism, Demonism and Faith Healers and he mentioned something I had not thought of.  Today, there's many false prophets who have these mega-churches that claim to be able to heal.  To be honest, I've never bought into this new teaching BUT I do believe that God heals today but at His Will in order to show His sovereign rulership.  Like someone said, if miracles such as healing the blind, making paralyzed people walk happened everyday, they'd cease to be called miracles and become the norm.  I've seen people healed from cancer and other diseases without a medical explanation but nor did they attend any church or faith healing.

In Matthew 24, a very prophetic end-times chapter, said that in the last days, there would be many who did lying signs and wonders that if it were possible, even the elect would be deceived.  Do not think that I don't believe God heals but as He is sovereign and with Him, all things are possible, and He will heal whom He chooses to show Himself to the world.  Prayer is all that's needed.  If it's His Will, you will be healed.  I also believe He uses doctors and medicine to heal, just as He uses us to do His Will on earth.  Please listen to the sermon that I posted and see if what he says doesn't line up with scripture.

I don't know but most of these "faith healers" have been proven to be fakes.  Benny Hinn actually killed an elderly woman at one of his gatherings.  I sincerely believe that all you really need to do is pray and have others pray for you.  Trust Jesus Christ as He knows what you need most.  However, we are not promised divine protection as Christians.  Paul and Timothy both had physical ailments and back then, healings were very normal.  Jesus Christ heals us all when we are saved because we are given eternal life in Heaven.  We are all appointed to die once and God does not view death the way we do.  He sees us as coming home.  For those saved, we know they're with the Lord God Almighty and truly in a better place but we still miss them.  But it's only a moment in time until we are with them again but this time in a place where there is no more sickness, mourning or fear.

To me, this should be taught whenever we share the Gospel of Salvation by Grace.  If we've lost someone we love that we know went to be with Him, it should make us more willing to open our hearts and minds to the truth of the Bible and what is to come.  Don't miss out on the opportunity to be with Jesus Christ for eternity.  To me, that's worse than hell.  I also want to see my lost loved ones and my friends.  I simply cannot imagine a conscious life without God.  We live in a society that is almost Godless and it's not a good place so hell will be a whole lot worse than this.  Accept this free gift of eternal life now because no one is promised a tomorrow.  It may be too late.

WHAT DO CHILDREN NEED MOST? A GOOD CHRISTIAN VIDEO FOR PARENTS

God's Word says that "raise up your children in the way it should go and it shall NEVER depart from it."  Children need to be taught that God Jehovah is real and that Jesus Christ came to save them to eternal life.  I accepted Him at around age 6 and although I strayed from following Him, I never once stopped believing in Him.  I finally surrendered to His will in my life when I found out I can't do it on my own.  I needed Him and He changed my life.  I was not only poor in wealth but a wretch in Spirit.  While it didn't change me overnight, it didn't take long for people to notice a great change in me.  I didn't see it but others did.  He heals.

FUNNY PICTURE - IS THIS A GORILLA LOSE ON OUR BEACH?

I love animals of all kinds, from puppies to lions and everything inbetween.  I even like MOST bugs except roaches, fleas, bedbugs, lice, etc.  I think they're scourges and are not supposed to be liked.  I do love spiders and other bugs, especially ladybugs, grasshoppers, crickets and others.  I catch and release spiders.  I even like birds, fish and reptiles except I don't want them in my home.  I do NOT care for snakes but would not want to kill one so we made an agreement that I'll stay out of their home, they stay out of mine. That includes crocks and gators now that I live in Florida.  God created the animals and so while this may not be what you would call a "Christian" post,  However, I believe laughter is a great gift of God and we don't use it often enough.  I wanted to share a minute of laughter with you tonight because God created the animals and they're fun and lovable. Don't worry if you don't get it at first, neither did I but it sure does look like a gorilla on the beach.  Tell me when you see what it really is.

5 Psalms for People Who Struggle with Anxiety

Candace Crabtree

Anxiety and depression are two words that I desperately wish were not in my personal vocabulary and experience. But, they are. God allowed me to walk through several years in the valley of the shadow of death and now that I’m on the other side of it, I believe He had my good in mind. I believe He taught me things in the valley that I could never have learned on the mountaintop. I believe that He wanted to prove to me that I truly am never alone, though I felt it many times. I believe He wanted to teach me that my feelings do not equate truth. God wanted to show me parts of Himself that I might never have known otherwise.

My season of depression is over for now; however, the anxiety can creep in, often unannounced, and leave me reeling. Sometimes the fear is so thick that I just know if I reach out my hands I can touch it. Sometimes the fear and anxiety keep me awake at night.

I know I’m not the only one that struggles. God has taught me much on this journey and I hope that these verses and these words will remind you that you also aren’t alone, you aren’t forsaken, and the God of the universe loves you. He longs for you to trust Him even through seasons where we don’t understand what is happening around us or in us.

For me, praying God’s Word in particular has been one thing that has helped me my heart so much. Sometimes in the depth of despair we don’t feel like we have the words to pray. So, instead, God gives us His own word and we pray it back to Him. We want to be close to God but don’t know how. His Word provides that closeness and nearness of Himself. He gives us Himself through the gift of His Word. His Word can be your lifeline, friend, don’t take it for granted!

Here are some of my favorite verses to pray when I’m struggling. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.
Psalm 23 - This passage is so well known to most people, but don’t overlook the profound truth and comfort this Psalm brings to us just because you’ve heard it many times before. Speak the words to God:

“God, You are my shepherd, I lack nothing. You make me lie down in green pastures, You lead me beside still waters, You restore my soul. You lead me in paths of righteousness for Your name’s sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me! Your rod and your staff, they comfort me! You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies, You anoint my head with oil, my cup overflows. Surely goodness and mercy will follow me all the days of my life and I will dwell in Your house forever. Amen.” Psalm 23:1-6

Psalm 27 - This Psalm is one of my life verses. I’ve struggled a lot with people pleasing which I think leads to anxiety so often. Wondering and worrying and becoming fearful of what others think or what they might do or say about us. We can’t live in that place! We must preach the gospel to ourselves and remind our hearts the The LORD alone is our light and our salvation!

“God, You are my light and my salvation, whom shall I fear? You are the strength of my life, of whom shall I be afraid? When the wicked come against me to eat up my flesh, my enemies and foes, they stumbled and fell. Though an army may encamp against me, my heart shall not fear!” Psalm 27:1-3
Psalm 34 - I like to think of this Psalm as the Psalm for the brokenhearted and fearful one. God love the brokenhearted, you know. And we are all broken, by the way.
“I will bless You at all times, Your praise will continually be in my mouth. I sought You, Lord, and You heard me, You delivered me from all my fears. When we look to You we are radiant. Your angels encamp all around those who fear You and You deliver us. Help me to taste and see that You are good, oh Lord. You say I will be blessed when I trust You. Those who seek You lack no good thing.” Psalm 34:1-10

Psalm 61 - Isn’t it encouraging to read the words of David, a Bible hero, who struggled like we do? That may be one of the reasons the Psalms are my favorite place to camp in God’s Word when I’m struggling. I especially like Psalm 61 in the New King James because of the word “overwhelmed.” I have spent seasons living in an overwhelmed state. When I find myself there, I pray these words:

“Hear my cry, O God; from the ends of the earth I cry to You, when my heart is overwhelmed, lead me to the rock that is higher than I. For you are a shelter for me, a strong tower from the enemy…” Psalm 61:1-3

Psalm 91 - Psalm 91 is another Psalm with such comfort that helps us learn how much it truly impacts us when we abide in Christ. Psalm 91 tells us that when we abide or dwell in the shelter of the Most High, we can REST in His shadow. He gives us rest from our worry, from our fears, from our anxiety.

“You are my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” Psalm 91:2

When the anxiety sets in, repeat some of these verses out loud. Speak them to God. Memorize His Word. Cling to these truths. Repeat to the Lord, “I trust You, I trust You…” and when we abide in Christ, the peace that passes all understanding begins to guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.

“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:4-6

Did you catch the beautiful truth in that passage? Prayer brings peace. When we are anxious about anything we are instructed to take it to God - with thanksgiving even! And then? Then, the peace of God, which we may never understand, will GUARD our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. Prayer brings peace. Prayer gives us more of Jesus. And that is just what we need in our moments and seasons of anxiety: more of Jesus.

Note - If you or a loved one struggles with anxiety, depression or any mental illness, please reach out for help! Tell someone, a friend, a spouse, or your doctor. There is help, hope and healing available for you! Do not suffer alone.

CHRISTIANITY AND ISLAM

This is not an anti-Muslim post nor is it one on on theology or which one is right or wrong.  I believe that matter has been settled.  Rather, it's about how we, as Christians, should view any religion that disagrees with ours.  We know that the Bible is true.  It has been proven over and over again and if scientists were honest with themselves and us, they'd admit they cannot prove there is no God.  They claim they can but if they have, why are the still constantly looking for "proof" that it's a lie?  The only logical and reasonable explanation can be is "that they haven't proved it to be wrong at all."  In fact, many scientists today are becoming more and more convinced that God YHWY exists because of the things they are finding.  But, that's another post.

I read on social media and videos, in the paper and on movies and television a lot of "hate speech" made by Christians and wishing we would just push the button and wipe them off the face of the earth.  We are their enemies.  They are taught to kill all those who do not submit to Islam.  But...did Jesus Christ tell us to blow up our enemies, kill them or wish them harm?  No, He did NOT.  He said to love our enemies, pray for them and do good to them.  Are we doing what Jesus Christ, the One we call God and IS God, told us to do by doing these things?  I understand that we fear them.  They've made their intentions clear and we see and hear of atrocities done in the name of their god every day, especially to Christians, women and children, and even worse to the Jews.  They hate us and they wish us harm but that's not what we are told to do.

While I don't have the book, chapter and verses that tell us what Jesus Christ said about this but if you know even the basics of the Word of God, you'll know I speak the truth.  Jesus told us to LOVE our enemies, to pray for them and to do good to them.  I have read nowhere where we are told to "nuke" them, kill them or torture them.  I don't even see where He says it is right to go to war with them.  Unfortunately, war is a very real reality and He even said that there would be "wars and rumors of wars" in the end times.  We believe that Islamics and Christians will have a major war and it is a very real possibly that will happen NOT because it's right, it's because man will choose to go to war.  If man had not fallen, war would be a word or concept we wouldn't even know.  War is not HOLY and it's not righteous.  Neither is us hating them, wishing they would be wiped out or doing evil to them in the Name of YHWY.

War is an invention of man and mankind is the only species that kill each other for anything other than self-protection or food.  A well-fed lion is of no danger to anyone or any other animal. Man's inhumanity to man is stunning.  We live in a Godless world.  There will be wars until the final one which has already been won.  Jesus told us not to be troubled by these things but yet we are.  Maybe if we started doing what Jesus Christ commanded us to do by loving, praying and doing good, things may be better for you.  Peace will never be upon this world until our Lord and Savior (eternal God) Jesus Christ takes His reign.  Follow Him and do what He says.  This does not mean we should embrace false religions and doctrines but rather LOVE them enough to pray and do good by spreading the truth, that Jesus Christ was born, died, buried and rose again to save them too.  He is all-inclusive and the Gospel of Salvation is as much for them as for you.  We may not be able to change what man is going to do but we are not of this world for our citizenship is in Heaven, regardless of anything superficial such as race, color, religion or the color of your eyes.  However, be wise as serpents and harmless as doves.  Always pray for everyone by obeying the commandments of Jesus Christ.

SERMON BY J. VERNON McGEE: SPIRITUALISM, SATANISM, DEMONISM AND FAITH HEALERS

This isn't a "fun" topic, I know but we know it's become a very real issue in the world today.  We hear it all the time and statues are made of satan and we've heard about the Luciferian cults so prominent today.  Remember, this sermon was taught back in the 70s rather than today.  It was preached before the invention of the internet and we were comfortable and cozy in our beliefs that these things weren't real.  Well, they are very real and the more you know, the better prepared we are to fight these battles.  Prayer is our most effective weapon.  PRAY!
