PEACE! BE STILL AND KNOW THAT I AM GOD!

I love this little verse.  I'm not sure it's a direct quote or not but there is truth to it.  One of my favorite websites and most credible is Bible.org.  When I went searching for the book, chapter and verse, I came across this from one of the women who helped start this awesome website and while sad for us, she is where she always wanted to be.  She wrote a diary to remain close to Him during her storm in life.  I wanted to share what she said...

PEACE!  BE STILL AND KNOW THAT I AM GOD!

In April 1999 I began keeping a journal for the first time in my life. My desire was to know the Lord in a more personal way, but also to develop a more thankful spirit. I felt that I was taking for granted all the good gifts God had given me as though I somehow deserved them, yet I knew that wasn't true at all.

For 58 years God has blessed me with a basically trouble-free life. He gave me a wonderful husband, three terrific children who love the Lord, eight very special grandchildren, and faithful parents who are healthy, active octogenarians. I've also been blessed with rewarding ministries as a pastor's wife and the past five years with the Biblical Studies Foundation.

Just two months after I started my journal I was diagnosed with multiple myeloma. My cancer count dropped steadily so we thought all was well and we were very thankful. As part of an annual physical in July 2000, however, tests showed I'd developed major renal insufficiency (70% loss). Further tests showed that my kidney function was declining very rapidly and on August 24 the nephrologist predicted I had only 4-6 weeks to live.

It is hard for me to put into words all that went through my mind on the way home after hearing this prognosis. I wasn't frustrated, upset, or angry. Nor did it occur to me to ask "why." Actually, my heart was rejoicing in the Lord! I praised and thanked Him for His great mercy in allowing me to go home without a lingering, painful death. Dying from the pain of multiple myeloma had concerned me greatly since I was diagnosed. I wondered if I would be able to glorify the Lord and continue to praise Him even when the pain increased. I was already having a lot of spinal pain and had fractured several ribs because my bones are very brittle. Most of all, I was overwhelmed to think that a wretched sinner like me could be loved by God so much that He was willing to send His sinless Son to suffer and die for me so that I can be seated with Him in the heavenlies right now and one day very soon go home to be with Him!

Yes, there have been tears, but they are tears of rejoicing not sorrow! I cry for my sweetheart of 41 years, for my precious parents whom I wanted so badly to care for in their old age, and for my children and grandchildren who love me and will grieve for me. But I do not cry for myself. And I have no fear, only peace. My heart absolutely sings praises to my Savior all day long! God truly has given rest to my soul because my trust is in Him alone (Psalm 62:5-8 NIV).

Eight weeks have now gone by and many faithful people have been praying for me. Though God has not healed me, He has definitely been answering prayers. My kidney function stopped declining and this last eight weeks have been wonderful! The hot, searing pain in my spine has disappeared, I've had no more rib problems, and I've been able to eat and enjoy food again after being nauseated for several months.

After receiving the news that I had such a short time to live, our two sons and their families came from Texas to be with us. And they are still here ... waiting. When the renal failure did not occur as quickly as predicted the initial excitement I felt over going home to be with the Lord began to fade. I'll have to admit I was disappointed and a bit depressed over this, but then I realized it wasn't because I was trusting Him less. I still had peace; it was just a deeper, more settled peace. Waiting has made us realize how very little control we have over anything in this life and relinquishing control is how we grow.

In the meantime my family and I are learning many lessons while we wait on the Lord. One of my sisters sent me a list of things God is showing her:

1. Waiting reveals what I truly believe, it reveals my heart! (It reveals unbelief)

2. Waiting teaches me to live now as if my prayers are already answered. (It grows faith)

3. Waiting changes my perspective: (An eternal perspective) I beg God to move the mountain and discover He wants to move me instead.

4. Waiting aligns my desires with His desires (It teaches me His heart).

5. Waiting makes me desire Him. He withholds what I think I want in order to give me what He knows I need. (An endless need for God Himself).

6. Waiting teaches me to be in His precious presence. (It keeps me on my knees).

7. Waiting teaches me the discipline of "silence." (Be silent and know that I am God. My soul wait in silence for God only!)

8. Waiting gives me "time" to embrace and deal with pain! Time to deal with things I have ignored, denied or buried. (Don't waste the pain-the Healer is not in a hurry!)

9. Waiting is His gift!

With renal failure there will come a time when I am no longer able to eat or drink. But I know God will provide all I need because His love is better than life. And Psalm 63:1-8 will be even more meaningful to me than it is now.

O God, you are my God, earnestly I seek you; 
My soul thirsts for you, 
my body longs for you, 
in a dry and weary land where there is no water.

I have seen you in the sanctuary 
and beheld your power and your glory. 
Because your love is better than life, 
my lips will glorify you.

I will praise you as long as I live, 
and in your name I will lift up my hands. 
My soul will be satisfied as with the richest of foods; 
with singing lips my mouth will praise you.

On my bed I remember you; 
I think of you through the watches of the night. 
Because you are my help, 
I sing in the shadow of your wings.

My soul clings to you; 
Your right hand upholds me.

Yes, my family and I are in the midst of the biggest storm we've faced, but things are not out of control. God is still on His throne and He is working out His good and perfect plan concerning all of us. As I look back over what I've written in my journals these past 16 months I can see that I've grown to love Him more than I ever would have had it not been for the storms He's brought my way.

Someone sent me a poem by Wendy Greiner that really blessed my heart. I thought the last verse was particularly special and I quote it here without permission because I don't know how to contact the author.

And now I know more storms will come, but only for my good,
For pain and tears have helped me grow as nothing ever could.
I still have so much more to learn as Jesus works in me;
If in the storm I'll love Him more, that's where I want to be!

I am so thankful God has given my family this precious time together. We have a unique opportunity to minister to one another and grieve together as we wait on the Lord. Yes, this is a hard time for all of us, but I know my family will be able to look back one day and see that this time in their lives was also one of those good gifts from our gracious, loving, heavenly Father.

P.S. My mom went to be with the Lord Monday, Jan 29, 2001.

On Thursday night, Mom had a very bad night and finally went to sleep. Sometime that night, she went into a coma. Friday, about noon Dad and Wendy (my sister) were reading to Mom from the little promise book she had compiled from various psalms and from which she had been memorizing for the past year and a half. When they finished reading from Isa 12:2which says "I will trust in Him and not be afraid," mom made a little smile and said "and I'm not afraid."

Those were her last words.

I think it was very fitting because she has been such an example to us all on how to face death.

We are thankful that she got to do all this in her home. That she wasn't in much pain. That her family was there to sit with her, read her promise book to her, play her tape with praise songs and to tell her we loved her and to tell her goodbye. We know she could hear us on Saturday and Sunday for sure because she closed her eyes a couple times in response to questions.

As much as we miss her, we are very glad she is finished suffering and are comforted with knowing without a doubt that she is with the Lord.

I want to thank all of you for your prayers, phone calls and emails these past months. They meant a lot to Mom.

For He (GOD Almighty) TESTIFIES: “YOU ARE A Priest Forever According TO The Order OF Melchizedek.” For ON The One Hand there is an ANNULLING of The Former Commandment (The Old Covenant), because of its weakness and unprofitableness, for The Law made nothing perfect; ON The Other Hand, there is The BRINGING IN OF A Better HOPE, THROUGH Which We (Believers) DRAW NEAR TO GOD.

By so much more, Jesus Has BECOME A SURETY OF A Better Covenant. But He, because He CONTINUES FOREVER, has an UNCHANGEABLE Priesthood. Therefore, He (Jesus Christ) is also ABLE TO SAVE TO The Uttermost, Those (Believers) Who COME TO GOD THROUGH Him, Since He ALWAYS LIVES TO MAKE INTERCESSION FOR Them (Believers). For SUCH A High Priest Was Fitting For Us (Believers), Who IS HOLY, Harmless, Undefiled, SEPARATE FROM sinners, AND Has Become HIGHER Than The Heavens; Who does NOT need daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifices, FIRST for His Own sins and THEN for The People’s, FOR THIS He (Jesus Christ) DID ONCE For All, When He OFFERED UP Himself. For The Law (The Old Covenant) appoints as high priests Men who have weakness, BUT The WORD OF The OATH (The New Covenant), Which CAME AFTER The Law, APPOINTS The SON, Who HAS BEEN PERFECTED Forever.

Now, THIS IS The Main Point of the things We ARE SAYING: We (Believers) have such A High Priest, Who IS SEATED AT The Right Hand OF The THRONE OF The Majesty IN The Heavens, A Minister OF The Sanctuary AND OF The TRUE Tabernacle, Which The LORD (GOD Almighty) ERECTED, and NOT Man. But Now, He (Jesus Christ) has OBTAINED A More Excellent Ministry, inasmuch as He IS ALSO Mediator OF A Better Covenant (The New Covenant), Which WAS ESTABLISHED ON Better Promises.

For THIS IS The Covenant that I Will MAKE WITH The House of Israel AFTER Those Days, SAYS The LORD (GOD Almighty): I Will PUT My Laws IN Their Mind and WRITE Them ON Their Hearts; and I Will BE Their GOD, and They Shall BE My People. For Christ has NOT Entered The Holy Places MADE with hands, which are copies of The TRUE, BUT INTO Heaven Itself, Now TO APPEAR IN The Presence OF GOD FOR Us (Believers). But now, ONCE AT The END OF The AGES, He has APPEARED TO PUT AWAY sin, BY The SACRIFICE OF Himself. So Christ WAS OFFERED ONCE, TO BEAR the sins of many. To Those (Believers) Who EAGERLY WAIT FOR Him (Jesus Christ), He Will APPEAR A Second Time, apart from sin, FOR SALVATION.

DAILY DOSE...THIS TIME REALLY OPEN WIDE, LOL

Since my Hebrew Word of the Day was DENTIST, I thought I'd continue the theme with a few funnies...ENJOY AND GOD BLESS YOU ALWAYS!

When a new dentist set up in town he quickly acquired a reputation of being the 'Painless' dentist.  However a local little girl called Gemima disputed his claim.

'He's a fake!' Gemima told her friends.  'He's not painless at all.  When he stuck his finger in my mouth I bit him - and he screamed like anyone else.'

Martin and his wife Debbie walk into a dentist's office.  Martin says to the dentist, "Doc, I'm in one heck of a hurry I have three buddies sitting out in my car waiting for us to play golf, so forget about the anaesthetic, I don't have time for the gums to get numb. I just want you to pull the tooth, and be done with it! Today is Friday and we have a 10:00 AM tee time at the best golf course in town and it's 9:15 already... ".

The dentist thought to himself, "My goodness, this is surely a very brave man asking to have a tooth pulled without using anything to kill the pain." So the dentist asks Martin, "Which tooth is it sir?"

Martin turned to his wife and said, "Open your mouth and show him dear......."

What does a dentist's award look like?  We don't have a picture, but apparently it's a big plaque with a little cavity.

Dwayne is recovering from surgery in St Peter's, Chertsey, UK, having had a local anaesthetic when a nurse asks him how he's feeling.  'I'm O.K. but I didn't like the four-letter-word the doctor used in surgery.'

'What did he say?' asks the nurse.

'OOPS!'

Dentists can be frustrating. You wait a month-and-a-half for an appointment, and when he examines you he says, 'I wish you'd come to me sooner.'

A patient sits in the dental chair with severely fractured front teeth.  After discussing with the orthodontist how they will be restored and what the fee would be the patient says,  'Before you start, I gotta know: Will I be able to play the clarinet when you are finished?'

The dentist replies 'Sure you will!'
The patient replies 'Great, I couldn't play a note before!'

It is imminent! THIS IS ESSENTIAL for the Christian to live in the Holy Spirit and be filled daily, and share the Gospel ready to be called up to meet Jesus Christ in the air. This is the state of a educated believer who lives as though life here is but for a moment in time and service to God for eternities record book; The Lambs Book of Life.

Looking for Antichrist is the only option for those misinformed and misguided Christians who continue to debate and deny what scriptures clearly encourage.

Titus 2:
13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;

GOD'S UNFAILING PROMISE

THE CALL OF GOD TO COME UNTO HIM

Revelation 22:17

" And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely."

This has nothing to do with the chronology of the Church nor the Tribulation. It is a invitation by the Church for Christ to come AND TAKE US HOME and by The Spirit for sinners to come to Christ NOW which is our work through sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ

This IS the invitation today! If a person unsaved is tired of drinking of the cesspools of the world, WE, in the power of The Spirit, invite them TO COME TO HIM!...NOW, before it's too late. We do it through The Gospel in The Spirit of love.

"Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price."

For The GRACE OF GOD (GOD Almighty) that BRINGS SALVATION Has APPEARED TO All Men, TEACHING Us that, DENYING Ungodliness (THROUGH Satan) and Worldly Lusts (THROUGH Satan), We (Believers) Should LIVE Soberly, Righteously, and Godly (THROUGH Jesus Christ) IN The PRESENT AGE, LOOKING For The BLESSED HOPE and GLORIOUS APPEARING OF Our Great GOD AND Savior Jesus Christ, Who GAVE Himself FOR Us, that He Might REDEEM Us FROM Every Lawless Deed (THROUGH Satan) and PURIFY FOR Himself His Own SPECIAL People (Believers), ZEALOUS FOR GOOD Works (THROUGH Jesus Christ).

Fellow Believers, Let’s LOOK AT This Bible Verse:

“For AS The Lightning COMES FROM The East (A Good Sign) and FLASHES TO The West (A Terrible Storm), SO ALSO Will The COMING of The Son of Man (Jesus Christ) BE.”

Some Holy Bible Scholars suggest This Verse describes both The Being Caught Up Together (Lightning from The East) AND The Great Tribulation (Flashes to The West). In other words, The First Half of This Verse IS A Good Sign FOR Living Believers, While The Second Half of This Verse IS A Warning FOR Unbelievers! It also describes how quickly The Being Caught Up Together Will Happen, AS FAST AS Lightning, IN A Moment, IN The Twinkling of an Eye, Wow!

Now Let’s LOOK AT These Bible Verses:

And NOW YOU (Believers) KNOW, What (The Holy Spirit) IS RESTRAINING, that He (The BEAST/The Antichrist) May BE REVEALED IN His (The BEAST/The Antichrist) Own Time. Some Holy Bible Scholars suggest These Verses describe The Being Caught Up Together, in the sense that The Holy Spirit Represents Believers, because AS Believers, Jesus Christ Comes To Abide WITHIN Us, THROUGH The Holy Spirit, therefore by Removing Believers (The Holy Spirit) IT Clears The Way for The BEAST (The Antichrist).

Do I Believe The Being Caught Up Together IS The Truth? Well, I ONLY have to LOOK AT Jesus Christ’s Own WORDS for My Answer:

“Because YOU (Believers) Have KEPT My (Jesus Christ’s) COMMAND TO Persevere, I (Jesus Christ) ALSO Will KEEP YOU (Believers) FROM The HOUR OF TRIAL (The Great Tribulation), Which Shall COME UPON The Whole World (Satan’s World), TO TEST Those (Unbelievers) Who Dwell ON The Earth.”

Fellow Believers, I can only speak for myself, but I Truly Look Forward TO The Lightning Coming FROM The East (Jesus Christ), IN A Moment, IN The Twinkling of an Eye! The Being Caught Up Together May Occur IN The Next Millisecond, So, there is NO Time to waste, GET OUT There, Show YOU Care, Share The Gospel of Jesus Christ!

LITTLE LATE ON YOUR MEDICINE...PHARMACY WAS CLOSED SO OPEN WIDE AND LAUGH!

WRONG ADDRESS....

A couple decided to go to Cyprus for the weekend, but because they both worked it was Hard to coordinate their diaries. So they decided the husband would go a day early, and his wife would join him the following day. On arriving, the husband thought he would email his wife from his laptop, but he accidentally mistyped her email address and sent it off without realising.      

A widow had just returned from her husband's funeral. He was a minister of many years who had been 'called home to glory' following a heart attack. The widow checked her e-mail, expecting messages from relatives and friends, but instead found this:      

To: My Loving Wife
From: Your Departed Husband
Subject: I've Arrived!
     
I've just arrived and have checked in. I see that everything has been prepared for your arrival tomorrow. Looking forward to seeing you then! Hope your journey is as uneventful as mine was. (P.S. Sure is hot down here!)

THE END IS NEAR....

Farmers Fred and Luke were fishing on the side of the road. They made a sign saying "The End is Near! Turn yourself around now before it's too late!," and showed it to each passing car. 
      
One driver that passed didn't appreciate the sign and shouted, "Leave us alone you religious nuts!"
      
All of a sudden they heard a big splash.
      
Fred grinned at Luke. "Do you think we should just put up a sign that says: 'Bridge Out' instead?"

A fire started in the grasslands close to a farm. The county fire department rushed to the scene, but the fire was more than they could handle. Someone suggested calling the volunteer fire department. Despite some doubt that they would be of any assistance, they were called.
      
The volunteers arrived in a dilapidated old fire truck. They rumbled straight towards the fire, drove right into the middle of the flames and stopped! The firefighters jumped from the truck and frantically started spraying water in all directions. Soon they had snuffed out the centre of the fire and leaving two parts which were easily put out.
      
As the farmer watched all this, he was impressed and grateful that his house and farm had been spared. He quickly got his chequebook and donated $1000 to the volunteer fire department.
      
A local news reporter asked the volunteer fire captain how they planned to use the funds.
      
The captain replied, "The first thing we're gonna do is get the brakes on our fire truck fixed!"
