THE GREAT I AM

"Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM.”  John 8:58

"Therefore I said to you that you will die in your sins; for if you do not believe that I am He, you will die in your sins.” John 8:24

"And now, O Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was. John 17:5

"And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist."
Colossians 1:17

Jesus did not begin in Bethlehem. The Bible says, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."

Jesus said that He existed before the foundation of the world. He was there when the moon and stars were flung out into space from the Father's flaming finger tips.

He was there when God created this planet. He has always existed. He is "from everlasting to everlasting."

IS WATER BAPTISM ESSENTIAL TO SALVATION? NO! " Part 2 of 3 BY: WORD OF TRUTH LIGHTHOUSE

New  Testament  Examples  of  Salvation  Without  Baptism

Since people in the Old Testament were all saved without being baptized, you would expect to find cases in the New Testament where people were saved but never baptized.

Luke 7:37-50  tells the story of a woman who was saved without being baptized.  JESUS said unto her,  " Thy sins are forgiven."  And HE went on to say,  " Thy faith hath saved thee; go in peace."  Luke 18:35-43 tells about the healing and conversion of a blind man who was saved by faith without baptism. Here is the record:  " And JESUS said unto him, Receive thy sight: thy faith hath saved thee."

The publican in Luke 18 was saved without baptism.  The story is recorded in Luke 18:13, 14.  This poor sinner simply cried out,  " GOD be merciful to me a sinner."  And JESUS said of him,  " I tell you, this man went down to his house justified..."  But there is no record of his ever being baptized.

The thief on the cross is the classic example of one being saved without being baptized.  The story is recorded in Luke 23:39-43.  This poor thief, dying on a cross, requested of JESUS in verse 42,  " LORD, remember me when THOU comest into THY kingdom. "  And JESUS answered him in verse 43, saying,  " Verily (truly) I say unto thee, to day shalt thou be with ME in paradise. "  He was never baptized;  but according to the very words of JESUS, he was with CHRIST that very day in Paradise.

Salvation  Is  a  Gift

Baptism, then, cannot possibly be a part of GOD's plan of Salvation. Salvation is clearly a gift of GOD which is not deserved,  is not bought and cannot be paid for.  Therefore, no church nor preacher nor any individual has a right to claim the credit when a soul is saved.

Salvation is a gift to be received,  not a prize to be earned by our good works,  including the good work of baptism.  The sinner's only part is to receive by faith what JESUS CHRIST has purchased with HIS own blood.  John 1:12 says, " But as many as received HIM, to them gave HE power to become the sons of GOD,  even to them that believe on HIS name."  In the words of the old song:
I  dare  not  trust  the  sweetest  frame,

But  wholly  lean  on  JESUS'  name.

It is fatal to trust anything other than JESUS CHRIST for Salvation.  "...he that believeth NOT the SON shall NOT see life;  but the wrath of GOD abideth on him."  John 3:36

There are so many clear Bible verses that teach one is saved by simple faith in CHRIST that even those who argue that baptism is necessary for Salvation cannot deny them.  So some of them say,  " Yes, Salvation is by grace through faith, BUT believing includes baptism."  However, such is not the case.  It is one thing to believe on the LORD JESUS CHRIST and a totally different thing to be baptized.  Mark 16:16 clearly says, " He that believeth and is baptized...."  If baptism were included in believing,  then it wouldn't have been necessary to add the expression, " and is baptized."  Acts 2:41 plainly says,  " Then they that gladly received his word were baptized...."  No, believing does not include baptism.  Baptism is an act of obedience.  As a matter of fact,  it is the first act of obedience for those who trust CHRIST as SAVIOR,  but it is NOT an instrument of Salvation.

SONGS FOR OUR CHILDREN

Some days I wake up and feel a sense of hopeless and despair.  It seems today's youth aren't being taught the Word of God anymore.  Most are not and I feel a deep sense of responsibility as it is my children's generation.  However, as always, God reminds me that man (or parents) aren't in charge.  I see many of today's youth abandoning their parents thoughts on evolution and aren't buying it.  So, for those with kids, grandkids or teach Sunday School, don't forget these fun (and true) songs...Enjoy and God bless our youth today!

HOW TO CHOOSE A LIFE VERSE BY CROSSWALK NEWSLETTER

Your favorite Christian authors have one. Your friends at church do too. Even the pastor has one. A life verse. We hear about them all the time. Yet the idea of actually finding our own can seem overwhelming.
For some reason, many of us have the perception that finding our life verse is this super-spiritual moment which only happens for some people. But we shouldn’t let our thoughts paralyze over choosing a life verse. God’s Word is “alive and active,” (Hebrews 4:12). We can anticipate great things when we spend time reading and researching Scripture to find a special message.
Are you considering the idea of choosing a life verse, but not sure where to begin? First, let’s ease those anxious thoughts by getting a clear understanding of what a life verse is. The Dictionary of Christianese website defines a life verse as, “A Bible verse that a Christian believes to be specifically representative or predictive of his or her life.” So since the verse is believed to be specific to each of us, there is no wrong answer – or wrong verse, in this case.
The selection process doesn’t have to leave us frustrated. Breaking a daunting task into manageable pieces makes it easier to begin. Then with pure motives and a sincere heart, we can find the life verse that best represents our relationship with our Heavenly Father.  Here are four steps to help you choose your own life verse.
1. Pray through the process.
Before opening our Bibles to read, we can ask God to give us knowledge through His words. Jeremiah 33:3 says God will “tell you great and hidden things that you have not known.” Let’s embark on the process of finding a life verse with targeted prayer, then continue praying each time we read a verse or passage. Renewing our prayer focus each day will keep our minds and hearts ready to receive what God has to say.
2. Brainstorm life events.
This step will take some time, but doesn’t have to be completed all at once. Your schedule may allow you to sit down for an hour of uninterrupted time in the morning. Or you may need to tackle the task in several 10-minute breaks throughout the day. Decide what works best for you, and add it to your calendar. During this time, write down answers to the following questions:
What struggles have I faced in my life? What obstacles has God helped me overcome?  What has God been teaching me recently? How has my life changed for the better because of my relationship with Christ? When answering, don’t pause to think. Write down everything that comes to mind. The key to brainstorming is getting everything recorded. The more you write, the easier the next step will be.
3. Look for common themes or words. Then look those up.
Do you see any common themes or ideas in your brainstorming? Read back through what you’ve recorded and look for connections. Maybe God has taught you a lot about faith, perseverance, or trust. Maybe He has shown you how to live in freedom, love, or peace. Circle or highlight these important topics. If necessary, narrow down the list to one or two that stand out to you. Then use either a print or online concordance to look up these keywords.
Biblestudytools.com is a great place to start. It provides an easy-to-use, free concordance online. Simply type your topic into the Search tab to find a list of verses related to the subject you’ve chosen.
4. Reflect on one verse at a time.
Next, read through several of these verses. The generated list may show 20 verses or 200. But whatever the number, you will be able to rule out several the first time you read them. At this point, narrowing the list to between 10 and 20 verses will be ideal.
As you read through your shortened list, reflect on each one by considering these questions: Does this verse stand out to me? Do I connect with the words in a special way? Does it feel like God wrote this just for me? If you answer “yes” to any of these questions, write that verse down. Pray as you continue to revisit the words again and again. This process will bring two or three verses to the forefront. And in time, the words that reveal the foundation of your life in Christ will become known.
James 4:8 teaches us this truth. “Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you.” As we pursue His presence through Scripture, we will feel a deeper connection with His message. And as a result, that special verse will emerge.
Our lives are ever-changing, so it’s perfectly acceptable for our life verse to change also. We may be seeking a life verse for the first time, or second, or third. Wherever we are in the journey, let’s cherish the time spent with Scripture while searching for our life’s verse, knowing “he rewards those who earnestly seek Him,” (Hebrews 11:6). Because after all, the journey is the best part.

QUESTION ABOUT THE "BIG BANG" THEORY BY: BRENDA ALEXANDER

If I watch a video and dare to comment, upholding the Word of God, I am immediately called, stupid; unintelligent or of low IQ.  I am called a "blind sheep," ignorant and worse.  I am in no way bragging but I do score high on IQ tests, did well in school and I've heard all that man has to say on how we came to be.  Maybe they right and there was a "big bang."  I wasn't there but I was taught there's no noise in space, but if there was, who lit the match?  Creator God IS the only answer!

Big Bang Theory

This makes more sense to me!

God lit this...

BREAKING THE ENEMY'S MANY EXPRESSIONS OF WITCHCRAFT - CHARISMA MAGAZINE

Jennifer LeClaire is now sharing her reflections and revelations through Walking in the Spirit. Listen at charismapodcastnetwork.com.

October has rolled around once again and spiritual warriors everywhere are standing strong against spiritual witchcraft. Every season—through every battle with this demonic power—I learn more about how to battle back.
I've long known idol worship—including Mary worship—can release witchcraft into a spiritual climate. I've understood that Wiccan activity can release witchcraft. I've recognized Voodoo and Santeria and other false religions can release witchcraft.
To sum it up, there are many different expressions of witchcraft just as there are many different flavors of ice cream. (I prefer the ice cream!)
The witchcraft that Jezebel releases often carries intimidation, imaginations and infirmities. Witch doctors in Africa have been blamed for hurricanes coming up the East Coast. Witchcraft in Voodoo rituals release spells and incantations that make people sick and even die.

The Witchcraft We Battle

Witchcraft can be in the spiritual atmosphere due to demonic activity from those practicing its various expressions—but witchcraft can also be released directly at you as a spiritual attack. Because of the constant drip of persecution from unbelievers—and even believers in the church who don't believe in the full gospel—I break word curses, hexes, vexes, incantations, spells and every form of witchcraft that I discern coming against me.
What is witchcraft? Merriam-Webster defines witchcraft as the use of magical powers obtained especially from evil spirits; the use of sorcery or magic; communication with the devil or the familiar. You might think of the Voodoo priests or the witch doctors, but as I've said before even Christians can release witchcraft at you with their thoughts and words.
Webster's Dictionary defines witchcraft as an irresistible influence or fascination—and the Bible warns us not to be bewitched: "O foolish Galatians! Who has bewitched you that you should not obey the truth? Before your eyes Jesus Christ was clearly portrayed among you as crucified" (Gal. 3:1).
Obviously, there is a spiritual force the Bible is warning us about. It causes us to take leave of the truth that sets us free. Hence, we come into a measure of bondage, whether it manifests as strong confusion in your mind, sickness in your body, unreasonable fatigue, wild imaginations, feeling like giving up and so on. We have a responsibility to know about this spiritual wickedness and guard ourselves against it. I speak more about these realities in my book, Satan's Deadly Trio.

If you discern a witchcraft attack against you, you must stand against it as quickly as possible. The longer you let the witchcraft's residue settle on you, the harder it is to break free. Here are five practical ways to resist a witchcraft attack.
1. Be careful what you're thinking about. First Peter 1:13 says, "Gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and rest your hope fully upon the grace that is to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ."
The battle really is in the mind—or at least it starts there. Witchcraft works in imaginations and illusions many times. Although a curse or vex can cause your body to manifest with symptoms, for example, it's up to you whether you want to receive the attack or refuse to submit to the devil's power. Don't reason out in your mind where the physical symptoms are coming from. Ask the Holy Spirit what is going on and He will show you. Sickness is not the will of God, in any case.

2. Guard your heart from old temptations. The Amplified version of 1 Peter 1:13 says, "brace up your minds; be sober (circumspect, morally alert)." Jezebel and her witchcrafts work to draw you into sin. When you are under heavy attack, your soul gets weary. Jesus can offer rest to your soul, but Jezebel wants to provide you a different way of escape through sin. Jezebel works to seduce you into idolatry or immorality (see Rev. 2:20). When you feel like you are getting hit from every side, guard your heart. Don't run into temptation when you are under attack, run for cover—run to Jesus.
3. Cast down vain, fearful imaginations. Imaginations don't always work to push sickness on you or tempt you to sin. Sometimes the devil just wants to overwhelm you with witchcraft imaginations so you'll give up and go hide in a cave with a bag of potato chips, a bowl of ice cream, a big pillow and the TV remote control. If the Holy Spirit dwells in you, then so does the fruit of self-control. You can choose by your will to "cast down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ" (2 Cor. 10:5, KJV).
4. Cast your cares on the Lord. Witchcraft imaginations totally skew your perspective—making monumental issues out of something God could fix with a wink. Cast your care on the Lord. Keep your eyes on Him. Pray for what you think you need—then believe He's got your back. When you do, He promises to care for you and give you perfect peace (see Is. 26:3).
5. Speak the Word, use the Name and invoke the Blood. You have three powerful weapons at your disposal—spiritual weapons that are mighty through God to pull down strongholds. It's hard to effectively wield those weapons when you are wallowing in condemnation, self-pity, fear or some other harmful emotion. Choose to snap out of it. Plead the blood against it. Declare the truth over your life, in the name of Jesus!
