LETTER TO ANTI-TRUMPERS

Hi Guys,

Believe it or not, this isn't political.  I must admit he wasn't my choice but obviously mine did not win.  I saw a YouTube video yesterday blaming us Christians and our blindness to God's will for him being elected.  Well, the fact is that we did help get him elected.  They called him the anti-christ or the one to usher him in.  Well, where does that leave those who prayed and felt led, as I did, to vote for him?  Does the Word of God lie?  NO.  Someone will usher him in.  Will it be Trump?  Who knows but if so, that's God's will, correct?  We have no say.  We can't force His hand.  Just accept this, God's will WILL be done on earth no matter what and for the good or bad, this is God's will.   I am thankful to be a part of His Will being done on earth.  Stop the guilt and blame.  Satan is the accuser, not Christ Jesus.

God bless you all!

GO TELL PETER - GREG LAURIE DAILY DEVOTIONAL

But go, tell His disciples--and Peter--that He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him, as He said to you. --Mark 16:7
Perhaps the most notable of Jesus’ resurrection appearances is when He met Simon Peter. We all know how Peter denied and deserted the Lord. Peter was devastated by his own unfaithfulness; and he really needed encouragement.
The last sight Peter had of his Lord was as Jesus was taken away for trial. Poor Peter, his world came crashing in on him.  He had so many regrets. He was never even able to tell the Lord he was sorry.
But the Resurrection of Jesus changed all of that.  Peter heard the incredible message, “But go, tell His disciples--and Peter--that He is going before you into Galilee; there you will see Him, as He said to you” (Mark 16:7).
Isn’t that amazing?  Here is the Lord directly responding to the doubts, fears, and regrets of one of His followers. The message was not, “Go tell the disciples and James He is risen.” Or, “Go tell the disciples and John He is risen.” Or, “Tell the disciples and Matthew He is risen.” No, it was, “Tell the disciples and Peter He is risen.”
More than the rest of the disciples, Peter needed reassurance. His risen Lord knew that, and knew how to restore his faith.
Summary sentence: The Lord knows how to restore His disciples when they need reassurance. Do you need His restoration today?

THE GOD WHO PROVIDES

It is not difficult to find examples of people who have allowed the love of money to ruin their spirituality and to nullify the effect of their witness. History is full of such examples, and they come from our time also. In the book of Joshua we are told of the sin of Achan that caused the defeat of the armies of Israel at Ai. Israel had just been victorious at Jericho and had dedicated the spoil of the battle to God, as God had indicated. But there was a scar on the victory. During the battle a soldier called Achan had come upon a beautiful Babylonian garment, two hundred pieces of silver and an ingot of gold. Because he coveted them, he took them and hid them in his tent. It was a small thing, but it was disobedience to God. Thus Israel was defeated in their next engagement, and judgment came upon Achan and his household.

Solomon allowed the love of money and women to ruin his spiritual life. Ananias and Sapphira lied to the Lord about money, pretending that they had given the full price of a sale to the church while actually keeping back a portion. They were struck dead. Paul wrote in one of his letters about a young man named Demas, who, he said, "hath forsaken me having loved this present world." We see the same problem today when people put their home and the care of it above the need for biblical teaching and mow the grass on Sunday when they should be at church, or when they direct all their efforts toward amassing a fortune (or part of one) while neglecting their families and the essential spiritual life of their home. No wonder that Paul wrote to Timothy to remind him that "the love of money is the root of all evil" (1 Timothy 6:10).

Remember that the Bible nowhere teaches that money itself is evil. It is not money or possessions that are at fault; it is the men who use them. Before God created men and women He created a vast world of pleasant and useful things for them. They were meant for man's use in every joyful and constructive way. But when man sinned, the things that were to be helpful to him came to usurp a place in his heart which they never meant to have. Soon men began to fight and steal and cheat and do countless other things to possess them. Today, when a man surrenders to God and allows Him to redirect his life, a process begins in which money and things are removed from the center and God once again is reinstated on the throne.

There have been sensitive souls in the history of the Christian Church who have recognized the evils that accompany possessions and who have sought to eliminate the evils by doing away with the possessions collectively. Using the example of the early church in Jerusalem, which pooled its possessions and distributed to those who had need, these Christians have argued against the right of private property among believers and have sometimes even advocated a form of Christian communism. That is not right. If some Christians are led of the Lord to sell their possessions and give to others and they do so, particularly in a time of need, this is a great blessing. But it does not therefore follow that all Christians must follow their example.

Actually, if you examine the Bible carefully, you will see that far from condemning the possession of private property the Bible actually assumes the rightness of it. For instance, the eighth commandment says, "Thou shalt not steal" (Exodus 20:15 KJV). However, that verse teaches not only that I am not to take those things belonging to another person, but that neither is he to take mine. In the story of Ananias and Sapphira mentioned earlier, Peter said when speaking to the husband, "Ananias, how is it that Satan has so filled your heart that you have lied to the Holy Spirit and have kept for yourself some of the money you received for the land? Didn't it belong to you before it was sold? And after it was sold, wasn't the money at your disposal? What made you think of doing such a thing? You have not lied to men but to God" (Acts 5:3-4). Peter was stating that God recognizes the right of private property and does not force any Christian to dispose of his money.

Now, someone will ask, "Didn't the Lord Jesus instruct the rich young ruler that he was to sell all that he had and give to the poor?" Yes, He did. But we must also note that He did not say it to Mary or Martha or Lazarus or to John the evangelist or to Zebedee. He said it to "the rich young ruler" because his chief obstruction to a life of following Christ lay in his possessions. He proved that by turning away. For such a person — and there are many today —the loss of their possessions would be the most significant blessing of their lives. The best thing they could do would be to give them away. This does not mean, however, that possessions in themselves are wrong or, for that matter, that poverty is a particularly blessed form of Christianity.

In this as in all other areas of the Christian life the true solution does not lie in abstinence or withdrawal. It lies in the proper use and proper estimate of the things which God has provided. In other words, we are not called upon to relinquish things but rather use them under God's direction. We are to use them for the health and well-being of our family, for material aid to others, and for the great task of proclaiming the Gospel and promoting Christian verities.

That is precisely what Jesus Himself was teaching in the verses concerned with money in the Sermon on the Mount. Jesus was not speaking against possessions. He was speaking against a ruinous preoccupation with them. He said, "Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy, and where thieves break in and steal. But store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where moth and rust do not destroy, and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also" (Matthew 6:19-21).

These verses also take us one step farther, for they contain the first of the reasons given by Jesus why worldliness in regard to our possessions is foolish and detrimental to our spiritual lives. The reason is that one day all earthly possessions will perish and will be gone forever, and since that is the case, a man who has spent his life accumulating them may himself be saved, but he will have nothing to show for what should have been a lifetime of profitable service. Thus, Paul wrote to the Corinthians, "Now if any man builds on this foundation [Jesus Christ] using gold, silver, costly stones, wood, hay, or straw, his work will be shown for what it is, because the Day will bring it to light.... If what he has built survives, he will receive his reward. If it is burned up, he will suffer loss; he himself will be saved, but only as one escaping through the flames" (1 Corinthians 3:12-15). This means that it is only as a man uses his possessions for spiritual ends that he is able to accumulate true treasure.

Then, too, there is another reason why a preoccupation with material things is foolish for the follower of Jesus Christ. Jesus said that if a man's treasure is on earth, his heart will be on earth also, and therefore things will rule him. There is a great illustration of this in the linguistic development of the Hebrew word mammon [translated as "money" in the NIV] which occurs several verses farther on in this chapter, where it says, "Ye cannot serve God and mammon" (Matthew 6:24, KJV). Mammon was a word for material possessions, but it had come into Hebrew from a root word meaning "to entrust," or "to place in someone's keeping." Mammon therefore meant the wealth that one entrusted to another for safekeeping. At this time the word did not have any bad connotations at all, and a rabbi could say, "Let the mammon of thy neighbor be as dear to thee as thine own." When a bad sense was meant an adjective or some other qualifying word was added. So we have the phrase "the mammon of unrighteousness" or "unrighteous mammon."

As time passed, however, the sense of the word mammon shifted away from the passive sense of "that in which a man trusts." In this case, of course, the meaning was entirely bad, and the word mammon which was originally spelled with a small "m" came to be spelled with a capital "M" as designating a god.

This linguistic development repeats itself in the life of anyone who does not have his eyes fixed on spiritual treasures. Is that true of you? Have things become your god? Don't forget that these things are written to Christians, and that they are therefore meant to make you ask whether the Lord God Almighty occupies the central place in your life or whether things obscure Him. If you think most about your home, car, vacation, bank account, clothes, or investments, then you are building your treasure on earth; and, according to Jesus, "where your treasure is, there will your heart be also."

The third reason why Jesus Christ warns his followers about an improper concern for possessions occurs in verses 22 and 23. It has to do with our spiritual vision. Jesus said. "The eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are good, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eyes are bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness!"

William Barclay writes of these verses:
"The idea behind this passage is one of childlike simplicity. The eye is regarded as the window by which the light gets into the whole body. The color and state of a window decide what light gets into a room. If the window is clear, clean, and undistorted, the light will come flooding into the room, and will illuminate every corner of it. If the glass of the window is colored or frosted, distorted, dirty, or obscure, the light will be hindered, and the room will not be lit up.... So then, says Jesus, the light which gets into any man's heart and soul and being depends on the spiritual state of the eye through which it has to pass, for the eye is the window of the whole body."
Let me ask you a question. Do you see spiritual things clearly? Or is your vision of God and His will for your life clouded by spiritual cataracts or near-sightedness brought on by an unhealthy preoccupation with things? I am convinced that this is true for many Christians, particularly those living in the midst of Western affluence. Now and then people like this complain to me that they cannot understand the Bible, or that God seems far away. Sometimes they are confused about the Christian life or about God's will for them. Well, it is not surprising. And, what is more, it always will be this way for one who knows his way around a supermarket or a brokerage house more than he knows his way around the New Testament. Although Jesus did not direct us away from possessions themselves, He did warn us against losing our spiritual vision because of them.

There is another thought in this section in verse 22. It comes from the word which the King James' translators rendered "single" The translators of the Revised Standard Version, Phillips, and the New English Bibles rendered "sound"; the New International Version uses "good." It is the word haplous, related to the noun haplotes. In some texts the words mean "simple" or "simplicity," but there are other texts in which the only possible translation is "generosity." The translators of the New Scofield Bible recognized this truth when they came to the twelfth chapter of Romans , verse 8 , for in that verse the word simplicity (used in the King James Version) is changed to "liberality" so that the text now reads: "He that giveth, let him do it with liberality." In James 1:5 (KJV), we read, "If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, who giveth to all men liberally." The word occurs in this same sense at least three times in 2 Corinthians ( 8:2 ; 9:11, 13 ) and once in Colossians ( 3:22 ).

I believe that it is this sense of the word that is present here in Christ's teaching. The "single eye" is the "generous eye." And if that is the case, then Jesus is promoting a generous spirit in regard to our money. How can you tell whether riches have clouded your spiritual vision? The answer may be determined by the extent to which you are generous with the goods which you have been given.

Do not tell me that you cannot be generous this year because it is a bad year financially or because your stocks have declined. I once received a report of alumni giving to Harvard University for the fiscal year 1969-70. It was the second highest record of annual giving in the history of the university, and it occurred in a year in which the Dow Jones average dropped from a high near 1000 to below 700. No, liberality is not closely linked to affluence, unless it is an inverse relationship, and we all need to learn the secret of the Philippian Christians who out of "the most severe trial, their overflowing joy and their extreme poverty welled up in rich generosity" (2 Corinthians 8:2).

The final verse of our section (Matthew 6:24) deals with the mutually exclusive nature of serving God and riches. "No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money."

Nothing could be said more clearly, or be more obvious. It should be a heart-searching question for all Christians. Ask yourself this: Can anything be more insulting to God, Who has redeemed us from the slavery of sin, put us in Christ, and given us all things richly to enjoy than to take the name of our God upon us, to be called by His name, and then to demonstrate by every action and every decision of life that we actually serve money?

In discussing this verse in The Sermon on the Mount, Dr. D. Martyn Lloyd-Jones tells the story of a farmer who one day reported to his wife with great joy that his best cow had given birth to twin calves, one red and one white. He said, "You know, I have been led of the Lord to dedicate one of the calves to him. We will raise them together. Then when the time comes to sell them, we will keep the proceeds that come from one calf and we will give the proceeds that come from the other to the Lord's work."

His wife asked which calf he was going to dedicate to the Lord, but he answered that there was no need to decide that then. "We will treat them both in the same way," he said, "and when the time comes we will sell them as I have said."

Several months later the man entered the kitchen looking very sad and miserable. When his wife asked what was troubling him he said, "I have bad news for you. The Lord's calf is dead." "But," his wife remonstrated, "you had not yet decided which was to be the Lord's calf." "Oh, yes," he said. "I had always determined that it was to be the white one, and it is the white calf that has died."

It is always the Lord's calf that dies — unless we are absolutely clear about our service to Him and about the true nature of our possessions. Who owns your possessions? The Lord Jesus Christ tells us that either God owns them and you serve Him, or else your possessions own you, and you serve them. In any case, no one ever really possesses them himself, although many persons think they do. May God give us each the victory that comes when our gifts, wealth, time, friends, ambitions and talents are turned over to Him and we use them to establish indestructible riches in heaven.

WELL, THIS IS A FIRST...BUT I GOTTA SHARE IT

I am not a Benny Hinn fan, I'll tell you that right off.  I never thought I'd see the day I'd actually WANT to share one of his videos but this one, is there hope?  I've been praying for him and God can do anything.  Are we seeing a great change? It remains to be seen but as for what he says here, I gotta give him credit...he called out the worst of the worst, Joel O'Steen.  I do NOT endorse or support this man but, with Christ, ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE.  Note...he's considered a false prophet but even a broken clock is right 2 times a day.  So,good for you, Benny.  You are in my prayers!

Keep it up and please God, not man and you'll have our support but preach truth.

WHAT IS YOUR PROMISED LAND? DAILY WORKPLACE INSPIRATION BY CHRISTIANITY.COM

“So I gave you a land on which you did not toil and cities you did not build; and you live in them and eat from vineyards and olive groves that you did not plant" (Josh 24:13).
God called the people of Israel to leave Egypt and come out of slavery in order to enter their own Promised Land. It meant they had to change a way of life they had known their whole lives. Instead of being told what to do everyday by a taskmaster, they were now being led by the cloud of God that led them into the desert with the ultimate goal of entering their own Promised Land.
Every believer has a Promised Land in their lives. It is the place where you receive all God intended for you to receive. However, many of us are still living in Egypt where we sweat and toil in response to the taskmaster of production dictated by our workplaces and our lifestyles of busyness.
We will know when we are beginning to experience our Promised Land when we experience God's rest at the same time we are fulfilling our work life call. We will begin to give testimony to what Joshua says in the above verse. We will begin to receive things we never built or planted. We begin to experience a level of rest in our working lives that is not characterized by sweat and toil. Things become easier because we are receiving them as a fruit of our call instead of a goal.
I began to experience this new way of living as I began to be obedient to doing things based on His direction versus my perceived outcome. Provision began to follow obedience. Projects began to get done with little sweat. God brought the people to me to get things done. There was no longer a tendency to manipulate outcomes that I wanted to have happen. God was giving me my Promised Land as I yielded to Him.
Are you living in your Promised Land? If not, release the goals of your life to the Lord and simply be obedient to His voice. Ask Him for the steps you are to take to receive your Promised Land.

ADAM - A MAN WHO GAVE UP PARADISE FOR A WOMAN - SERMON BY DR. V. MCGEE

A couple of things before I share this.  One, Dr. McGee is on someone's list as a false prophet.  Now, I don't know why but after researching every pastor ever heard of, they were ALL labeled as one.  Some of the reasons where just dumb-founding.  Now, I haven't heard this sermon yet so I have no idea what he's going to say but I can imagine the thoughts going through your heads right now.  I can guess it's not anti-woman but rather more about problems with men and it's Biblical.  It begs a question though, the Bible says clearly that Eve was deceived but Adam was not.  That must be very vital information.  What do YOU think, whose sin was worse and what was it that made Adam's sin worse? I think I know.  God bless and enjoy!

WOLVES AMONG THE SHEEP BY DALLAS HOLM

In my last post (Hey Jude) I expressed my concern in regards to false teachers that seem to abound these days. Like the “wolves in sheep’s clothing”, they seem to be among us in an often discomforting close proximity. Under the guise of “ministry” they sneak in amongst the flock, having an outward appearance that’s rather sheep-like but underneath are ravenous predators seeking to devour both the weak and the strong.
That last statement is noteworthy! I am amazed how many Christians who have presumably walked with the Lord for many years are being deceived and led astray from the true gospel by these false teachers.
I have a close friend who is a rancher up in Wyoming. Some years ago when mis-guided, uninformed environmentalists sought to re-introduce wolves into the Yellowstone area of Wyoming, my friend became a significant voice for the ranchers who expressed great concern about this re-seeding of highly skilled predators in their backyard. Sure enough, it’s been a disaster on many levels, but that’s a whole other story for discussion elsewhere.

Killing Only the Weak and Wounded?

I would like to point out however, that one of the most popular lines used to promote the “pro-wolf ” movement was: “they only kill the weak and the wounded.” Absolutely, categorically not true! There is ample and credible evidence to the contrary. Many verified accounts and photographic documentation of the dozens of elk, herds of sheep, prize domestic bulls and more, bear testament to the fact that wolves kill both the weak and the strong.Does this mean wolves are evil, demon possessed animals? No, they’re just wolves doing what wolves do. I had a close encounter some years ago with wolves as I was hunting in Alaska. An entire family of wolves, a male (probably 180 lbs.), a jet black female and four half grown pups presented themselves at about 50 yards. We viewed each other for a while and then I shot them all….with a video camera!
Had you worried for a moment, didn’t I? They’re a beautiful animal, and I have a great respect for their cunning and ferocity. As I consider God’s creation of both the sheep and the wolf, I am reminded of the scripture, “I am the Lord….causing well-being and creating calamity; I am the Lord who does all these.” (Is. 45:7) As someone said, “a wolf in sheep’s clothing is still a wolf!”
I think it’s interesting that of all the creatures He created, the one He uses to symbolize the terrible danger of false teachers is the shrewd, cunning and highly efficient predator, the wolf!

The Wolf that Puts On Sheep’s Clothing

Many are probably familiar with one of Aesop’s Fables which talks about a wolf that put on sheep’s clothing so he could fool the shepherd and the flock into believing he was a lamb. Where do you suppose Aesop got this idea for that fable? It’s interesting to note that in Aesop’s story, the shepherd returned to the flock at night to gather meat for the next day. The wolf in sheep’s clothing was killed as one of the sheep! Oops! So, how do we recognize false teachers? What will their judgment be? How do we stand against them?
For the answers to these questions we must go to the Scriptures.
Peter, in his second epistle, writes to warn believers about the false teachers who are peddling damaging doctrine. He contrasts the life of a Christian, typified by moral excellence, self-control, knowledge, perseverance, godliness, and selfless love against that of the false teacher. He says (by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit) they are sensual, arrogant, greedy and covetous.
I believe it’s interesting to note that false teachers are identified more by how they are and how they act than by what they say. If you are greedy you will pervert scripture in a way that will satisfy your greed. Beware of those ministries that spend most of their time continually, if not exclusively, asking for your money, promising such things as “large miracles for large offerings.”
Oh the shame of selling or putting a dollar amount on a miracle! Arrogance abounds these days as self-proclaimed “prophets” presume to be the only ones qualified to “speak the word of the Lord” when in fact, God has spoken clearly, definitively and completely through His Word.
You get the picture; bad character promotes bad theology and false teaching.
One might ask, “Why would a Christian minister go down this path?” I would submit that they likely were never on the right path to begin with.
John addresses this issue in his first letter starting at the eighteenth verse: “Children, it is the last hour; and just as you heard that antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have arisen; from this we know that it is the last hour. They went out from us, but they were not really of us…” (I John 2:18-19)
If that was a problem and a prediction two thousand years ago, how much more should we heed this warning today.
Could anyone knowingly perverting scripture, taking out of context Spirit inspired words to build their own kingdoms and live their own pockets be considered for Christ?

I’ll let you answer.

Building Different Kingdoms

Let me pause for a moment and clarify a point some of you may be raising. Is every ministry that asks for financial help wrong in doing so? Absolutely not! My wife and I support several wonderful ministries and have for years. If they didn’t make their needs known we wouldn’t know how to respond appropriately. I think you understand the difference between these types of ministries and those that seem to exist for no other reason than to build their kingdoms, their bank accounts, and their image.Jude gives us ample description of false teachers. “…these men defile the flesh, reject authority…..are those who are hidden reefs in your love feasts when they feast with you without fear, caring for themselves; clouds without water, carried along by winds; autumn trees without fruit, doubly dead, uprooted; wild waves of the sea, casting up their own shame like foam; wandering stars, for whom the black darkness has been reserved forever.” (Jude 1:8-13)
How will they be judged? Jude continues; “And about these (false teachers) also Enoch…prophesied, saying, “Behold, the Lord came with many thousands of His holy ones, to execute judgment upon all, and to convict all the ungodly of all their ungodly deeds which they have done in an ungodly way, and of all the harsh things which ungodly sinners have spoken against Him.” Let’s pause for a moment. Remember, the context of these verses is not about the ungodly in general but false teachers in particular. He goes on to say, “…they speak arrogantly, flattering people for the sake of gaining an advantage.” (Jude 1:14-16)
What is our defense against such as these? It’s really quite simple I believe. The Word of God! “Thy Word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path.” (Ps. 119:105)

Hunting Predators at Night

Most of you know I’m an outdoorsman. One of my favorite things to do is hunt predators at night. We have a significant problem where we live with both coyotes and wild hogs. There have been some coyote attacks just recently in the news, due to overpopulation of these predators. Both children and pets have been cited as victims of these confrontations.I like to go into the woods at night – predators usually prefer the cover of darkness, sit down by a tree and begin to make a sound like a wounded rabbit – predators are particularly drawn to the helpless. Often, in extreme darkness I can’t see the coyote or wild hog but I can hear, sometimes smell them – many predators smell.
I hope you’re getting all the symbolism!
When through sound, smell or sometimes just God given instinct, I sense the predator is within range, I hit my light mounted to my weapon and in that moment of illuminated exposure I dispatch the varmint.
So should we now be able to expose the false teaching predators by the light of God’s Word and so will His judgment one day dispatch those who have preyed on the sheep of His flock!

What We Are Seeing Happen In Our Country

Harsh, you may say? Friends, these are critical times. We have seen things happen in our country in recent days that we would never have imagined a short time ago. Lawlessness is on the increase, evil men are growing worse, as scripture predicted and the church is being assaulted and sadly often weakened by political correctness, shallow preaching and compromise of all sorts. But The Shepherd is not fooled and neither should His sheep be led astray!
“I am the good shepherd; the good shepherd lays down His life for the sheep. He who is a hireling, and not a shepherd, who is not the owner of the sheep, beholds the wolf coming, and leaves the sheep, and flees, and the wolf snatches them and scatters them…I am the good shepherd; and I know my own and my own know me.” (John 10:11-14)
He knows and we should know and be aware as well that there are true sheep and there are Wolves Among The Sheep.
In Christ,
Dallas Holm

WHAT CONSTITUTES A TRUE WOLF IN SHEEP'S CLOTHING AND BETTER YET, WHAT DOESN'T?

Short, sweet and to the point, what constitutes a "false prophet" today?  I know Joel O'Steen, Benny Hinn, Kenneth and Gloria Copleland, these new and "improved" Gospel teaching rock concert churches, etc. are the blind leading the blind, wanting to hear what they want rather than the truth to live in a false blanket of security for life.  They don't WANT the truth cos it hurts.  Yep, LOVE HURTS.

I found a minister I liked but felt odd about.  I'm not afraid to name names here although I can't spell his last name.  His name is Steve, he's from Australia and his ministry is called "Discover Ministries."  I've shared some of his videos but I never felt totally comfortable about it.  In fact, I'd get ready to publish one and delete it.  I decided to research him and the same issues I had, others did so I decided it's not worth it.  I'm not going to say he's a false prophet but he's toeing that line and it's a thin, thin line.  I know that numbers and the heavenly bodies (moon, stars, sun, planets, etc.) were created for signs for us.  That's 100% sound.  However, I started feeling as if he were using them to predict the future.  There's a big difference in astronomy (the STUDY of the skies) and astrology (which is occultish).  When he started talking about the Greek and Roman mythological "gods," I got concerned.   It's your choice as I believe he has some very relevant things to say but he crosses that line at times.

However, you also need to look at the facts and who and why they call a pastor or man of God a wolf in sheep's clothing.  Some are labeled that because they preach a pre-trib rapture or no rapture.  Hate to burst your bubble but if anyone denies the rapture, they don't know their Bible.  There is no doubt that we will be caught up together in the clouds.  I don't know how but in the Hebrew language, the word for this occurrence IS rapture.  Stop being so PC.  Words change but stop being ridiculous.  You can call it caught up or the rapture, it's the same event.  A rose by any other name....

Before automatically labeling someone a false prophet just because he may have thoughts or opinions that differ from yours doesn't not a false prophet make.  If you preach a different Gospel or different Christ Jesus, that is a false prophet.  Having a different interpretation is not necessarily one as maybe, just maybe you're the one wrong.  I did a search on every pastor I could think of and THE only one that I could not find one ounce of credible evidence of being a false prophet is Dallas Holm.  My favorite, who I've heard many sermons and sure was Biblical is labeled by someone as a false prophet.  Some are, be aware but also consider the source and why they label them as such.  You want a great idea of a false prophet?  The Jehovah's Witnesses, SDAs, Mormons, Scientology, Ellen G. White, to name a few!  God bless and learn to discern.

I admit I'm very harsh on thE unsound and unBiblical doctrine of this church for good reason.  It caused me great harm Spiritually for a long, long time and I've heard many others make this claim so it's not just me..  I was always taught this was wrong but yet somehow I allowed the opinion of man to override the clear language of the Bible and what I knew to be true.  I was told my grandmother (she was what I aspire to be as a Christian, I'll never achieve that and I love her so much) was burning in hell, right now.  It was right after truly dedicating my life to Him and I was a newborn baby.  This killed a big part of me and I got to thinking about all the men/women I knew who loved Jesus Christ but didn't speak in tongues and I could see them literally burning in hell.  Moving to Florida and getting out of that oppressive church was a huge blessing to me.  So listen up, your great commission is to lead others to Jesus Christ.  You  cannot "save" anyone and where did you get "win souls for Jesus" like it's a contest!  You didn't win squat, the Body of Christ won, Jesus Christ won, the angels rejoice!  HOLY HOLY HOLY!  Now, it's your job to get the heck out of the way and let God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit direct their life, give them whatever (if any) spiritual gift He gives utterance and don't you dare tell another person they must do anything to be saved other than what Jesus Christ said to do...TRUST AND BELIEVE that He DIED; BURIED; ROSE AGAIN TO SAVE YOU and YOU ARE SAVED.  It's right there in First Corinthians 15:1-11, especially 1-4.  Read John 3:16.  Did John lie?  No, Jesus said those words.  Where are the "buts" or "ands" or "musts".  NO CONDITIONS ON SALVATION OTHER THAN BELIEF. Oh, and stop crowding people, putting your hands all over them without their permission.  it's a recipe for disaster and someone will get badly hurt or killed.  I was abused at one point in my life.  I do not like to be touched by strangers.  It scares me.  Man, woman it doesn't matter.  Do not touch me.  Nowhere is this Biblical.  Laying on of hands is orderly and with permission.  Stop shouting at me and others.   Also, and this is THE worst, once you finally force someone into speaking in tongues, many do to get you off your back, I promise you that, you are then responsible for helping that lead that newborn until they can safely go out on their own.  Thank God I was raised in the truth.

In this one Pentacostal Church I use to attend, you were forbidden to speak in tongues unless you had an interpreter and I thought it was the most awesome thing I'd ever witnessed when one time, just once, this occurred.  However, something didn't sound quite right to me.  The interpretation was just saying random words, like Praise the Lord, Hallalujah, God is good, things like that.  No real message.  Not something I didn't already know.  But, maybe that was the point.  I got to witness the power of the Holy Spirit once.  I would never dare say that was fake.  Again, the Holy Spirit can do whatever He wishes.  I felt blessed and still do.  However, when I hear over 1,000 shouting in tongues and can't hear the sermon, it's confusing.  People running around, barking, convulsing, I don't think our loving God throws us to the floor or demands we "bark" or "howl" in church to prove we'll obey Him.  How about showing you'll obey Him by following His Commandments?  Do what the Bible says to do!  If you want to believe this unsound doctrine, so long as you grow and mature in His Word and obey it, I promise you the Holy Spirit will bring you out of deception.

I've also noticed tongue-speaking people measure their maturity in Christ Jesus on how much MORE they speak in tongues than others.  It's a contest or some growth measuring stick.  It's boastful and prideful.  Maybe MY gift is discernment.  Maybe it's interpretation but can't interpret cos you're not speaking in tongues?  Could that be the issue?  I don't know.  I do know that Muslims, Bhuddists and Hindus also "speak in tongues."  It is not a gift to the Christian religion at all.  If you claim they're false yet speaking in tongues is proof of the Holy Spirit, and since only a Christian can have that precious and wonderful gift, explain that to me.  Use clear scripture.

A little more and then I'm done.  What do you mean by "secret prayer language" and where is that even alluded to in the clear words of the Bible?  I've searched and can't find anything about this.  I know you say it's "praying in tongues" but well, where does the BIBLE say this?  Don't twist scripture.  I'v heard them all and no, I do not see it.  I have a friend I so dearly love that really makes that letter in Revelation to the Laodecian Church make sense.  I always wondered what He meant when He said I wish you were "hot" so that I could cool you down.  How can you possibly to too hot for Jesus Christ?  Because when you're too hot, you burn out quickly and/or your get stuck on something, get very zealous over it and that's all you share.  I've noticed that the book of Acts is THE only book ever taught on in any Pentacostal church. Try engaging a red-hot Pentacostal into discussing First Corinthians and they will not.  Try Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, Jude, Hebrews...nothing.  The OT, never!  They don't have a clue what the serpent on the stick is about.

Do not get me wrong, Acts is probably THE most exciting, amazing, informative and confusing book in the Bible.  It starts with the Apostles just seeing their beloved Messiah ascend into Heaven.  I can only imagine how devastated and scared they must have been.  They had very little information about what was about to happen.  However, the believed Him and obeyed and gathered together on the Day of Pentacost, probably discussing and pondering what MIGHT be about to happen.  However, I guarantee you not one of them knew the POWER and GLORY of GOD was about to drench them.  What do we do now?  Continue preaching Jesus Christ or give up cos no one will believe us.  They saw Him and denied Him.  How will they ever believe us mere men.  They'll say we're drunk (they did).  But...when He gives, He GIVES BIG TIME and that rushing wind came in, I wish I could have been there.  What a day!  The powerless had POWER.  All because they trusted and believed God.  That is what it's all about...believe God.  Trust HIM.  You're powerless without the Holy Spirit.  If you have the gift of tongues, use it the way He told you to use it.  If you can prophecy, you better know what is and is not from God.

The Body of Christ needs your Spirit and power of belief.  We need you to grow and to show the world the glory and majesty of God Almighty.  Discernment is also a Spiritual gift and better than the gift of tongues.  We should want the better gifts.  We don't need unknown languages.  They don't edify or build up the Church, they edify you.  It's not about YOU, it's about Jesus Christ.  If you want to pray in tongues at home and you truly feel you have this gift, who am I to say you don't?  I don't know but I do know I do not have this gift.  I will not fake it.  I've said a few words I have no idea where they came from, I certainly wasn't trying and I gave up asking.  The answer was no.  However, He answered 99% of the others.

I'm going to close with this...in the words of the least of the Apostles (Paul), where they be tongues, they will cease.  Prophecy will cease but pray for the better gifts and....the greatest of the gifts is LOVE. Without it, prophecy, healings, tongues, discernment, casting out demons, etc. is nothing but a bunch of useless noise.  LOVE IS THE BEST GIFT.  Love others in truth.  God bless, cool down and let's be of one voice/one accord and we'll be a force no man can withstand.  We'll make a POWERFUL team!
