NEW BIBLE TRIVIA QUESTION

Well, the poll showed up where it used to be and I ask you please take the time to answer.  If not, I'm not going to do this anymore.  I wanted to make it fun and a great way to learn.  So, it's now up to you whether or not I continue.  I pray you will.  It's always on the right-hand side near the top and underneath a video.  It never changes.  I will also be sharing some great Bible games and apps to download on your phones.  They're a lot of fun and is a great way to learn.  So please, this is your last chance to bring me this particular joy in the creation of my blog.  God bless you all but, in the end, I'd rather you actually read what I share or see the videos than answer a question.  KNOWLEDGE = POWER!

THE BRIDE OF CHRIST/THE PATHWAY OF FAITH BY SAM CHADAKOVSKY

The Bride of Christ/The Pathway of Faith

Faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God (Romans 10:17), therefore please read the scripture references that are given.

“Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; that he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, that he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself. For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church, for we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh. This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church (Ephesians 5:25-32).”

“And I will betroth thee unto me forever; yea, I will betroth thee unto me in righteousness, and in judgment, and in lovingkindness, and in mercies. I will even betroth thee unto me in faithfulness: and thou shalt know the Lord (Hosea 2:19-20).”

“Wash you, make you clean; put away the evil of your doings from before mine eyes; cease to do evil; learn to do well; seek judgment, relieve the oppressed, judge the fatherless, and plead for the widow. Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: though your sins be as scarlet, they shall be as white as snow; though they be red like crimson, they shall be as wool. (Isaiah 1:16-18).”

“And I heard as it were the voice of a great multitude, and as the voice of many waters, and as the voice of mighty thunderings, and saying alleluia: for the Lord God omnipotent reigneth. Let us be glad and rejoice, and give honour to him: for the marriage of the Lamb is come and his wife hath made herself ready. And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints. And he saith unto me, Write, Blessed are they which are called unto the marriage supper of the Lamb. And he saith unto me, these are the true sayings of God (Revelation 19:6-9).”

The bride of Christ (God’s saints) is supposed to make herself spotless, but not in her own strength as God is the only one who is able to remove our sinful stains. This is done through the sacrifice of the groom who died for our sins and made His blood a covering. So when the Father looks down upon us He does not see our sin, but rather the innocent blood of the groom Jesus Christ. Paul mentions the mystery of marriage and stating that he is not really talking about a marriage of flesh that is done upon the earth, but one that is of the Spiritual realm. Whereas the marriage on earth makes two people to become one flesh in the natural, marriage in the spiritual sense makes us one with Jesus Christ, God the Father, and the Holy Spirit. We, as Christians, are referred to as the bride of Christ, but when we receive Jesus we also receive the Father and the Holy Spirit (Colossians 2:8-9). Though we are made clean by the blood of Jesus Christ when we are saved, we are still imperfect vessels that have a sin nature and we will sin (Romans 3:10-12). We may be the best Christians upon the earth, but, everyone sins and falls short of the glory of God. No man or woman is perfect, that is why we need Jesus to save us from sin, for Salvation is an ongoing process. I am not saying we lose our Salvation, but when we sin we separate ourselves from God the Father because of the blemish of sin that comes upon us when (not if) we sin. These accumulating blemishes from sin are what need to be removed from us to make us a bride without spot or blemish. This is done by coming boldly before the throne of grace and asking forgiveness and receiving His cleansing (1 John 1:8-10).

Maturing in the Lord is a key principal of changing our way of thinking through the renewing of our minds that we will mature in Christ and allow Him to put to death our sin-nature. When we marry Christ it is desired that we will come to know the Lord as we come to know our earthly spouses. “Delight thyself in the Lord and He shall give you the desires of your heart (Psalm 37:4). This does not mean God will give us a $75,000 Cadillac if we want one, it means He will give us the Godly desires we should have in your hearts. God changes us by watering us with His own word and our minds will be renewed (Romans 12:1-2, Ephesians 5:25-27).

“But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female. For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and cleave to his wife; and they twain shall be one flesh: so then they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder (Mark10:6-9).” When we are betrothed to Jesus Christ we leave our father and mother, but upon the earth who is our father and mother. I am not talking about our moms and dads literally, but about our former father Satan and our mother (the wicked desires of our former “household”). They are our father and mother upon the earth who have kept us from God’s proposal of marriage (Salvation) and when Christ saves us and we are no longer bound to this wicked father and mother (John 8:42-44). This essentially is leaving the households of our father and mother of sin. When we are saved we become one in the Spirit with God through Jesus or what is called becoming the bride of Christ. We have left sin behind and it is desired by God that we learn of our new spouse of Salvation, Jesus Christ, our new Father in heaven, and the Holy Spirit with his gift(s).

I understand that Jesus is the one who covers our sins in the presence of the Father, but un-confessed sin causes more spots and blemishes. And though we cannot remove our own sin and cleanse ourselves, it is our responsibility to go boldly before the throne of grace that we may be forgiven and cleansed. Are we leaving ourselves spotted or blemished by not confessing our sins to the Father and asking forgiveness in Jesus name? Or are we constantly confessing sin and not allowing our former father or mother to gain a foothold on our lives again. “There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: that the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. For, they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God (Romans 8:1-8). It is the word of God, Jesus, who cleanses us to present us without spot or blemish before the Father, so take time to go boldly before the throne of grace and get His cleansing that will remove all spots, blemishes and wrinkles, so that Jesus will be able to present us Holy and without blemish to the Father.

Jesus is asking all of us: Do you believe that I came to forgive and save you from your sin(s), was crucified until death, buried in a tomb, and then resurrected from the dead that you could become my bride and follow me all the days of your life? That puts the ball “in our court” for Jesus has already proposed to every man and woman upon the earth. Now the question remains: What is your answer to Jesus?

PLAN OF SALVATION BY GRACE THROUGH CHRIST JESUS

FIRST CORINTHIANS 15:1-11

LIFE IS HOPELESS WITHOUT GOD

Our life is hopeless without God. Because every person is born with a bent away from God, we continue to choose wrong paths throughout our days on earth. These unrighteous choices are known as sin, the penalty for which is death and eternal separation from God. No one is exempt from this biblical truth—and none of us can do anything to change the situation.
Enter God’s grace, His unmerited favor toward us. We can do nothing to earn it. He blesses us according to His goodness, apart from anything we’ve done.
Consider the apostle Paul, whose original intention was to persecute anyone claiming to follow Jesus. He played a significant role in the unspeakable violence aimed at Christians and, in his own words, was the “chief” of sinners (1 Tim. 1:15 KJV). Nothing he did deserved God’s love.
Divine grace led the Almighty to reach down and forgive this hateful zealot and blasphemer of Jesus’ name. God lovingly transformed him into a man who dedicated himself to sharing the gospel message. Paul’s life beautifully illustrates grace.
We are unable to do enough good deeds to earn our way to heaven. Salvation is possible only because by grace, Christ died on the cross. The one who took the punishment for our sin deserves all credit for our redemption.
Jesus’ death covered the sins of the entire world. There is no transgression too great for Him to forgive. We can add nothing to His act of atonement; all we can do is receive this free gift. If we trust in Christ as Savior, God will save us, making us His children forever.

CHRISTIAN COUPLE LOSES FOSTER CHILD TO GAY COUPLE FOR EXPRESSING CONCERNS

A Christian couple have been blocked from adopting their foster children after expressing concerns about them being adopted by a gay couple.Reuters
A Christian couple have been blocked from adopting their two foster children after expressing concerns about them being raised by a gay couple, the Telegraph reports.
The married couple, who have not been named and have looked after the children since earlier this year, admitted that when told that a gay couple may adopt the youngsters they "expressed a degree of shock and asked if this was a 'joke'."
The practising Christians, who have biological children, were said by their social worker to find the situation "very challenging", and two days later formally applied to adopt the foster children themselves.
However, they were turned down by the council, who said that their views about gay parenting were "concerning" and "could be detrimental to the long-term needs of the children."
The couple claimed that, having expressed an interest in adopting the children several times before, they had been told by their social worker that their house was too small. They now say that a move to a new family could put the children under "emotional stress."
In their own notes about a conversation with the social worker, they said that the foster father had said it would be hard to explain the possibility of having gay parents to one of the children, who was "waiting for a new mummy."
The couple, who have now written to the council to appeal against the decision, said that they had "not expressed homophobic views, unless Christian beliefs are, by definition, homophobic".
They added: "We are Christians and we expressed the view that a child needs a mother and a father. We expressed our views in modest, temperate terms based on our Christian convictions.
"We love everyone, regardless of sexual orientation, and we love the children and believe that they would benefit from the foundation offered by a mother and a father.
"The decision... appears discriminatory to us and not related to the children's needs. The children love us: we love them. All the reports show that we are a loving, caring and stable family. What more could a child need?"
Asked about how he would react if one of the children came out as gay, the husband said: "It is hard to accept, but we would accept it."
The foster parents had previously been praised for their "lovely care and warmth" towards the children and for having a strong support network, including their church.
Andrea Williams, the chief executive of the Christian Legal Centre, which is supporting their appeal, said: "This couple's viewpoint is lawful and mainstream."

DAILY DEVOTIONAL BY CROSSWALK - WHAT DOES GOD LOVE?

Crosswalk the Devotional
What Does God Love?

by Debbie Holloway, Crosswalk.com Contributor
I will praise you, O Lord my God, with all my heart; I will glorify your name forever. For great is your love toward me; you have delivered me from the depths of the grave (Psalms 86:12).
There is a very famous passage in Proverbs detailing what God hates. Indeed, throughout the Bible God never shows reluctance to speak against behaviors he finds detestable. This should come as no surprise to us, being that he is holy and man has amassed a large amount of sinful tendencies since he first came into the world.
But what does God love? While avoiding the “bad” list – is there a “good” list toward which we can be working? Let’s dissect Proverbs 6:16 to discern the things which God loves.
God hates “haughty eyes.”
Therefore, God loves eyes which gaze with humility. Not a false or broken humility of despising oneself, but a genuine, Christ-like choice to serve others, not draw undue attention to oneself, and treat others with great honor and respect.
God hates “a lying tongue.”
Therefore, God loves a tongue which speaks truth. Note that this does not say a brash tongue, or a loud tongue, or a tongue which speaks its opinion at any and every possible moment. Rather, he loves a tongue which, when it does speak, values honesty and artlessness.
God hates “hands that shed innocent blood.”
Therefore, God loves hands which protect the innocent. Throughout Scripture, God’s compassion for the defenseless and the innocent is clear. He commends his children (in both the Hebrew Scriptures and the New Covenant) to protect the defenseless (Psalm 82:3-4), welcome the alien (Matthew 25:35), care for the widow (James 1:27), defend the orphan (Deut. 24:17), and mourn with those who are mourning (Romans 12:15). We are to be peaceful citizens, not bloodthirsty citizens, and our hands should therefore strive to protect innocence.
God hates “a heart that devises wicked plans.”
Therefore, God loves a heart which devises good and righteous plans. God loves our desires to serve, our desires to help, our desires to minister. When our hearts long to carry out God’s plans for goodness, righteousness, and peace, it delights him.
God hates “feet that run rapidly to evil.”
Therefore, God loves feet which run rapidly to goodness. Our feet carry enormous power. Where we choose to walk can truly define who we are as a person. Will we choose to walk away from a fruitless argument, or remain in an attempt to stubbornly prove a point? Will we choose to chase after those whom we have wronged, falling at their feet with love and humility? Will we let our feet wander to where the Spirit leads us, or will our feet guide us to our own selfish desires?
God hates “a false witness who utters lies.”
Therefore, God loves a trustworthy witness who speaks the truth. When we are beacons of integrity, truth, and honor, God rejoices. In any situation, a witness is charged to faithfully report what happened to the best of his ability. The greatest witness we can be is a faithful witness of God’s redeeming work in our lives. Will we stand boldly and speak the truth of God to the world? Are we living our lives as false witnesses, or trustworthy witnesses?
God hates “one who spreads strife among brothers.”
Therefore, God loves one who spreads peace among his brothers. It is really only possible to spread peace or strife. Every word we speak contributes one of those two attitudes to our relationships. And God loves those who value peace over 1) proving a point, 2) being heard, or 3) manipulating situations. With one word at a time, God wants us to change our attitude and sow seeds of peace in our relationships.

ANSWERING THE MYSTERIES OF CHRIST

Quote of the Day
"You’ve probably never thought of a refusal to serve God as idolatry, but that’s what it is--bowing down to self instead of submitting to Him."
- Charles Stanley (from Tripped up by Excuses?)
Today's Answer
Peter's Letters: Evidence of a Radical Change?
Stephen Davey
Did Peter ever radically change? Did he learn self-control? He later wrote, in I Peter, chapter 3, verses 8 through 10,
To sum it up, let all be harmonious, sympathetic, brotherly, kindhearted, and humble in spirit; not returning evil for evil, ...
(I seem to remember Peter swinging a sword at the high priest, missing him, and hitting his servant on the ear – Peter was a bad shot),
... or insult for insult, but giving a blessing instead; for you were called for the very purpose that you might inherit a blessing. For, “Let him who means to love life and see good days refrain his tongue from evil and his lips from speaking guile.”
Did Peter ever learn the importance of humility? Oh, was Peter ever proud; so filled with egotistical self-confidence. In Matthew, chapter 26, verse 33, he had said, in effect, “Lord, everybody will fall away from You, but not me; I’m made out of better stuff.”
Later, he would write, in I Peter, chapter 5, verses 5b through 6,
... and all of you, clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, for God is opposed to the proud, but gives grace to the humble. Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God, that He may exalt you at the proper time
Peter’s failures were not fatal – he did indeed learn the fruit of the Spirit.
You say that you want to be a disciple of Jesus, and that you are walking with Him – then understand that He will place you in the process of radical change.

First Corinthians 15:1-11 - GRACE!

A RIGHTEOUS JUDGE

A Righteous Judge
The fear of the Lord is clean, enduring forever; the judgments of the Lord are true and righteous altogether. - (Psalm 19:9)

When it comes to God’s judgment, sometimes people will say they believe in a God who is not judgmental. That sounds good, but here is what they are really saying: “I believe in a God who doesn’t care about right and wrong.” To put it more bluntly, they are saying they believe in a God they just made up in their heads.
If God really is loving, then God also will be just. That is what the Bibletells us. The love of God makes Him a righteous judge. Know this: No one will be in heaven who deserves to be there. Nor will there be anyone in hell who does not deserve to be there. No one will be in heaven who went there unwillingly. And no one will be in hell who didn’t go there willingly.
God won’t force anyone to go to heaven. He won’t say, “Get up to heaven right now!” You don’t have to go if you don’t want to. On the other hand, no one will be in hell who did not go there willingly.
I like the way J. I. Packer summed it up: “Scripture sees hell as self-chosen. . . . Hell appears as God’s gesture of respect for human choice. All receive what they actually chose. Either to be with God forever, worshipping Him, or without God forever, worshipping themselves.”
How could a God of love send people to hell? He doesn’t. He won’t. If you end up in hell, then you went there willingly because you rejected His offer of forgiveness. You rejected Jesus Christ and all that He did for you. But if you ask God to forgive you of your sin, He will remove it from you and give you a change, a transformation in your life. You will be born again.
Summary sentence: Scripture sees hell as self-chosen!

PROPHECY: AFTER A WICKED KINGDOM WAS TOPPLED - JEZEBEL CURSE BROKEN OFF AMERICA BY CHARISMA MAGAZINE

In the 1990s, a Jezebel curse was released over our nation. Today, it is broken.
Early Tuesday morning, I released a dream and a prophetic word—"Prophecy: on Election Day, a Kingdom Will Be Toppled." The word was as clear as anything I've ever heard the Lord say. I felt in my spirit I knew exactly what He meant but that's all He said, so I avoided prophetic presumption, watched and waited with the rest of the nation.
Looking at the electoral map this morning—mostly bright red—I'm overwhelmed with the reality that the blood of Jesus is sufficient for the sins of America.
I'm reminded of 2 Chronicles 7:14—"If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray, and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and will heal their land."
I'm reminded of James 2:13, "Mercy triumphs over judgment."
An evil, unseen kingdom was toppled in the wee hours of Nov. 9. As the ekklesia—the governing church—continues rising in the years ahead, we'll see the manifestation of this divine toppling in both the spirit and the natural. A demonic throne was overturned today and more demonic thrones will be toppled as the violent governing intercessors, emboldened by the Spirit of God, take them down by force in prayer in the name of Jesus (Matt. 11:12).
This morning, I heard the Lord say, "The Jezebel curse is broken."
Please understand I'm talking about spirits, not people. It's helpful if you don't assume I'm calling a person Jezebel in this context. We're not wrestling against flesh and blood, but against principalities, powers, rulers of darkness and spiritual wickedness in high places (Ephesians 6:12). This is not about a man or a woman in an election. This is about spiritual dynamics.

What is the Jezebel curse? Consider the words of Christ in Revelation 2:20-29:
"But I have this against you, that you tolerate the woman Jezebel, who calls herself a prophetess, and she teaches and leads My bond-servants astray so that they commit acts of immorality and eat things sacrificed to idols. I gave her time to repent, and she does not want to repent of her immorality. Behold, I will throw her on a bed of sickness, and those who commit adultery with her into great tribulation, unless they repent of her deeds. And I will kill her children with pestilence, and all the churches will know that I am He who searches the minds and hearts; and I will give to each one of you according to your deeds. But I say to you, the rest who are in Thyatira, who do not hold this teaching, who have not known the deep things of Satan, as they call them—I place no other burden on you. Nevertheless what you have, hold fast until I come. He who overcomes, and he who keeps My deeds until the end, to him I will give authority over the nations; and he shall rule them with a rod of iron, as the vessels of the potter are broken to pieces, as I also have received authority from My Father; and I will give him the morning star. He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches."
Certainly, since 1993 we've seen ever-increasing manifestations of immorality and idolatry—even in the church. Let's not forget, Queen Jezebel in the Old Testament sanctioned temple worship, during which prostitution, orgy islands and homosexuality were prevalent.
On Nov. 8, the body of Christ at large stopped tolerating Jezebel. Although this principality will not be eradicated from the earth until Jesus returns, we have authority over Jezebel. On Nov. 8, the church rose up with the fervor of Jehu and threw Jezebel down. Indeed, ABC reported the largest Christian turnout to a presidential election in our history. The sleeping giant is officially awake.

Church, let's not go back to sleep.
This is not where the spiritual warfare ends. This is not a time to stop lifting intercession, standing in the gap and making up the hedge. Now is the time to rise up with confidence, run to the battle line and start taking back ground the enemy stole for His glory. Now is the time to press into the prophesied Third Great Awakening.
Jezebel has been working to shut off the prophetic voice that is the church. Now, I believe we will begin to see more true prophetic voices rising in America. I see prophets coming out the wilderness, desert places and caves. I see the motives of false and opportunistic prophets who eat at Jezebel's table exposed and shunned, in the name of Jesus.
