SILLY THINGS PASTORS SAY BY GRACE AMBASSADORS

I hope this blesses, enlightens and delights you.  I'm just beginning to listen so not sure if it's funny or not yet but I am sure it's Biblical.  If you haven't found a church and you Church-shopped as I did, I think you can stop now.  God bless and share the Gospel of Salvation as that is the best way to love much in Messiah Yeshua.  God bless and I DO love you so much as you ARE my brothers and sisters in Him.

Always be ready to defend your faith and give good, solid reasons for our hope in Christ Jesus.  It is called Christian Apologetics.

IS BAPTISM NECESSARY FOR SALVATION? BY MATT SLICK AT CARM

One of the most nagging questions in Christianity is whether or not baptism is necessary for salvation. The answer is a simple, "No, water baptism is not necessary for salvation." But you might ask, "If the answer is no, then why are there verses that say things like ' . . . baptism that now saves you . . . ' (1 Pet. 3:21) and ' . . . Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins . . . ' (Acts 2:38)?" These are good questions, and they deserve a good answer so we will look at these verses later. But for now, the reason baptism is not necessary for salvation is that we are justified by faith (Rom. 5:1Eph. 2:8) and not by faith and a ceremony (Rom. 4:1-11). You see, a religious ceremony is a set of activities or forms performed by someone. In the Bible circumcision was a ceremony where one person performed a religious rite on another person. Likewise, baptism is also a ceremony where one person performs a religious rite on another person; but, we are saved by faith alone, and anything else we do, including ceremonies, will not help.
If we are saved by faith, then we are saved by faith when we believe and not when we get baptized. Otherwise, we are not saved by faith. Furthermore, if baptism is necessary for salvation, then anyone who receives Christ on his deathbed in a hospital and who also believes Jesus is God in the flesh, who died and rose from the dead for his sins, etc., would go to hell if he doesn't get baptized before he died. This would mean that we were not justified by faith because if we were, then the person would be saved. Also, if baptism is necessary for salvation, then all babies who die go to hell since they weren't baptized. Remember, when someone says that baptism is necessary, there can be no exceptions--otherwise, it isn't necessary.
Now, in order to more thoroughly look at this issue, I need to lay a foundation of proper theology; and then I'll address some of those verses that are commonly used to support the idea that baptism is necessary for salvation.

God Works Covenantally

First, you need to understand that God works covenantally. A covenant is a pact or agreement between two or more parties. The New Testament and Old Testament are New and Old Covenants. The word "testament" comes from the Latin Testamentum which means covenant. So, the Bible is a covenant document. If you do not understand covenant, you cannot understand, in totality, the issue of baptism because baptism is a covenant sign.
If you do not think that God works covenantally, then look at Hebrews 13:20 which says, "Now may the God of peace who brought up our Lord Jesus from the dead, that great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, . . . " The Eternal Covenant is the covenant between the Father and the Son before the creation of the world whereby the Father would give to the Son those whom the Father had chosen. That is why Jesus says things like, "All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never drive away." (John 6:37). And, "And this is the will of him who sent me, that I shall lose none of all that he has given me, but raise them up at the last day." (John 6:39). And, "I pray for them. I am not praying for the world, but for those you have given me, for they are yours." (John 17:9).
If you fail to understand that God works covenantally and that He uses signs as manifestations of his covenants (rainbow, circumcision, communion, etc.), then you will not be able to understand where baptism fits in God's covenant system.
Second, you need to know what baptism is. It is a ceremony that represents an outward representation of an inward reality. For example, it represents the reality of the inward washing of Christ's blood upon the soul. That is why it is used in different ways. It is said to represent the death of the person (Rom. 6:3-5), the union of that person with Christ (Gal. 3:27), the cleansing of that person's sins (Acts 22:16), the identification with the one "baptized into" as when the Israelites were baptized into Moses (1 Cor. 10:2), and being united in one church (1 Cor. 12:13). Also, baptism is one of the signs and seals of the Covenant of Grace that was instituted by Jesus.
The Covenant of Grace is the covenant between God and Mankind where God promises to Mankind eternal life. It is based upon the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross, and the condition is faith in Jesus Christ. As the Communion Supper replaced Passover, baptism, in like manner, replaces circumcision. "They represent the same spiritual blessings that were symbolized by circumcision and Passover in the old dispensation" (Berkhoff, Lewis, Systematic Theology, 1988, p. 620). Circumcision was the initiatory rite into the Abrahamic covenant; it did not save. A covenant is a pact or agreement between two or more parties, and that is exactly what the Abrahamic covenant was. God said to Abraham, "I will establish my covenant as an everlasting covenant between me and you and your descendants after you for the generations to come, to be your God and the God of your descendants after you." (Genesis 17:7). God later instructed Abraham to circumcise not only every adult male but also eight-day-old male infants as a sign of the covenant (Gen. 17:9-13). If the children were not circumcised, they were not considered to be under the promissory Abrahamic covenant. This is why Moses' wife circumcised her son and threw the foreskin at Moses' feet (Ex. 4:24-25). She knew the importance of the covenant between God and her children. But at the same time we must understand that circumcision did not guarantee salvation to all who received it. It was a rite meant only for the people of God, who were born into the family of God (who were then the Jews).

THE RAPTURE - IS IT BIBLICAL? BY CARM (ALL THEORIES ARE VALID BIBLICALLY)

Is the rapture biblical?

by Matt Slick
08/03/09
The Rapture is the teaching that at or before the return of Christ (Matthew 24:30Acts 1:11) the Christians who are alive on the earth will be transformed into the resurrected bodies and literally be caught up into the clouds to meet Jesus.
There is debate as to the timing of the Rapture. The pre-tribulation Rapture doctrine says that the Rapture will occur at the beginning of the seven-year tribulation period, which immediately precedes the return of Jesus. The Mid-tribulation Rapture doctrine says that the rapture will occur 3 1/2 years before Christ returns or halfway through the great tribulation period of seven years. The Pre-Wrath position holds that the Rapture will occur sometime during the latter half of the tribulation but prior to God pouring out His wrath in a series of judgments and thus well before Christ descends bodily to the Earth. The post-tribulation doctrine says that the Rapture will occur at the same time as the return of Christ or at the end of the seven-year tribulation. All of these positions fall within the realm of Christian orthodoxy.
The verses used to support the doctrine of the rapture are as follows:
  • 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18, “For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet of God; and the dead in Christ shall rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and thus we shall always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore comfort one another with these words.”
  • 1 Corinthians 15:20-23, “But now Christ has been raised from the dead, the first fruits of those who are asleep. 21 For since by a man came death, by a man also came the resurrection of the dead. 22 For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ all shall be made alive. 23 But each in his own order: Christ the first fruits, after that those who are Christ’s at His coming.”
  • 1 Cor. 15:51-52, “Behold, I tell you a mystery; we shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed, 52 in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet; for the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised imperishable, and we shall be changed.”

Please note that the verses found in Matthew 24 and Luke 17, that deal with two men in the field and one is taken while the other is left, are not dealing with the rapture. This is a common misunderstanding about those verses. Upon close examination of the texts in Matthew 24 and Luke 17, you will find that the ones who were taken are the wicked. In fact, Jesus' disciples ask where they are taken, and He gives them an answer: “Where the body is, there also will the vultures be gathered,” (Luke 17:37).

OPEN LETTER TO PASTORS

Dear Men of God or To Whom it May Concern:

I am a born-again believer, one in the Body of Christ Jesus, the true Church of which He is the Head.  I live in the largest city in America, and I see a church on almost every block of all kinds of denominations.  When we moved here, I had rejected all organized churches, denominations or organizations.  I notice some today are very quick to say, "we're not a church, we are an organization."  What is the difference?  You meet on a certain day(s) of the week, teach the same thing and I have yet to hear any pastor share the true Gospel of Jesus Christ.  Oh, they give an altar call while secretly hoping no one actually approaches it so you can get on with your plans for the day or evening.

You plan things like social gatherings to go to an ice cream parlor and if there be any visitor, as was the case for me, the pastor's ONLY concern was how soon I'd be off their property.  I didn't have the car and he was upset that I might delay their gathering (although he had no need of worrying as my husband was turning into the parking lot as he was speaking) but the church I grew up in, every member would have rushed to beg the visitor(s) to join them. I was not invited to attend the ice cream social nor was I invited back.  What's up with that? While the "Sinner's Prayer" and altar calls are NOT scriptural at all, at least in days past ministers delighted in those who felt led by the Holy Spirit to approach and accept our Lord Jesus Christ into their lives.  You don't even preach true repentance.  You give them this false sense of salvation by telling them either you're now saved forever and can never lose your salvation (which I believe is true for the truly saved) without following up on sin, the consequences of an unchanged life, how your life will change for the good if you do as Jesus commands.  I am not a legalist.  We are saved through grace alone; by faith alone; by Christ alone.  However, all who are newly saved in truth will bear good fruits not for salvation but because of it.  For outside of Him, I can do nothing of myself to earn or buy my way into the Kingdom of God.  Also, no one ever tells us what God considers as good works.  I know what they mean to me but my thoughts and ways are not His.  Tithing?  Giving to the poor?  Doing your best to obey the 10 Commandments (we break one, we break them all and every man is a liar)?  What about someone who is homebound and poor, that cannot get out into the world and share the Gospel?  What about the Christian in war-torn, anti-Christian countries that cannot get water baptized or those in a draught and there is no water?  So baptism can't be a requirement for salvation as our gracious and merciful Father in Heaven would never require anything of man for such an important event that some could not do.  Speaking in tongues?  Point to me where THAT doctrine of man is in any way proof of anything?  If so, then both Islamics and Bhuddists or Hindus (maybe both) are indwelt by the Holy Spirit without salvation as they speak in tongues too?

Also, nowhere is a secret prayer language mentioned in scripture.  I know the verses you use to try to prove this fact but the truth about this awesome phenomena is that it was given on the Day of Pentacost (a one-time event, like the flood, creation, birth of Christ, death/burial/resurrection) and has never been repeated.  It was a sign for the Jews, always a KNOWN language and even then Paul clearly states that not everyone speak in tongues, heal, prophecy, etc.  There are 65 other very vital and relevant books in the Word of God besides the transitional (albeit the most exciting) book of the Canon of Scripture.  Why do you never preach on them?  Is it possible that because if you do, you'll have to preach contrary to your doctrine?

I have some questions that I challenge any pastor that preaches these things or runs their church because I cannot find one here nor can any true man of God recommend one.  The closest I got was "there may be one near....but I don't know if they still preach rightly." Why bother?  I've found a few online pastors that I listen to regularly and rather than slop or fast food that temporarily satisfies my hunger and thirst for the truth but is not fulfilling, I will not return to a church.

Question One

When did pleasing man rather than God become more important?  I see that everywhere but nowhere more than in the Pentacostal, Word of Faith, Wealth and Prosperity, Little "gods", etc. doctrines, especially sowing "money" seeds to gain wealth from God.  When did you make God your financial counselor rather than Wonderful Councilor?  I please God, not man, to the best of my ability so as a pastor, when did you stop?

Question Two

We are to be the salt of the earth.  Salt (doctrine) is wonderful and flavorful and it has amazing healing abilities.  It is also abrasive and hurts when poured into a wound but that wound heals faster.  While there is no sin greater or less or that cannot be forgiven man, if you don't preach what is sin, and pour salt in those wounds of the heart, how can they be convicted of it by the Holy Spirit?  Faith comes by hearing.  This touchy-feely, fake healings, rock concert atmosphere is not working.  It hinders the Gospel when a visitor, especially someone new to Christ Jesus, because it did my husband.  I was raised on the Rock and my house was built on a solid foundation so I recognized the lies immediately but he refused to have any part of God for about 3 years.  Only by His grace and my faithfulness in living my faith (imperfect though it was way too often), he is finally starting to show good fruits...a change of his heart, not by his works.  He cheerfully gives to those in need because of this renewal, not to earn it.  He was a cheap, stingy, self-centered man.  I am seeing a different man today.  He's still a babe but the Holy Spirit is working in his life, no thanks to the UPC.

QUESTION THREE

I'll make this the last and is all-inclusive.  Why are you not feeding your flock?  Jesus asked Peter if he loved Him 3 times.  Each time Peter answered yes.  Three times Jesus replied, "then feed my sheep."  What does that mean to you?  Is it more important to fill the seats and preach the lie of tithing to fill your bellies and lusts than make sure your flock enters the Kingdom of God?  These things are temporary.  Put your treasures in Heaven and you will start obeying and following our Messiah, our Lord Jesus Christ.  Until then, you should have to pay your flock to listen because you are wasting their time and giving them a false sense of security.  You should be ashamed.

I pray for you all the time.  I want nothing more than a physical church that I can attend, support and go out and do good.  I find it incredibly sad that in all of my state, the closest one I could find is 3 hours away.  God bless and ask Him to show you the way.  I promise you He will IF you humble yourselves and shed your wealth (the love of it).  Money IS the root of all evils.

The peace of Christ Jesus,

GIFT OF GOD, A LITTLE GIRL PAINTING WITH JESUS

First of all, this is not a show I watch on any kind of regular basis.  He personally teaches things I don't believe but I have watched a few because of the guests and what they are speaking on, especially when I was out to expose everyone as a false prophet, which I'm not so quick to judge based on another man's personal opinion.  We all know who are the main ones and me constantly pointing fingers at them when I should be praying for them is not what I feel Christ is instructing me to do.  I don't have all the answers.  One is "does God heal today?"  Of course He does but not in the way portrayed by the wolves.  I worked in a hospital and a major one at that, world renowned, and what happens in one area, even the secretaries hear about it.  I heard many stories of unexplainable healings a lot.  In fact, on at least 3 occasions, I was told by doctors that I am a walking miracle.  I didn't say it, they did.  I was a believer, but certainly not living right.  Who am I to say what God will or won't do?  He's Almighty God and with Him, ALL things are possible.  No man can heal another, it's always God's grace and mercy, no matter how you are healed.

So while I don't like this show and find many of his guests to make claims that are clearly unscriptural and dismiss it, that's not always the case.  As I wasn't there, I can only speak by what I see and hear.  This little girl seems quite honest and true.  Regardless, you'll find this simply amazing of the faith this child has in our God and Savior, Christ Yeshua.  She is a beautiful child of God.  Not doctrinal.  God bless all.  Very inspirational.

SAVED AND KEPT BY THE GRACE OF GOD BY GORDON KING

Commentary By:  Gordon King
Saved by the grace of God!  We are saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, nothing more nothing less.  But what is grace exactly, what does it really mean?  If you are a Christian who is not sure of their eternal salvation then please read on, scripture is very clear on this matter.

Ephesians 2:1-7

“And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience, among whom also we all once conducted ourselves in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, just as the others.
But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.”
These verses in the book of Ephesians say it all in a nut shell, we were all by nature children of wrath, dead in our trespasses and sins, walking according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, Satan.  We all were born with this sin nature ever since Adam and Eve sinned in the Garden of Eden, all have inherited this sin nature.  As a result of this sin nature we were all separated from God at birth, we all at one time followed the ways of the world, we all followed Satan and his ways.
And even though this is all true, God made it possible for us to be redeemed from all unrighteousness, by His grace.  This means that although we don’t deserve it, He is offering us eternal life, life together with Jesus Christ in heaven.  He is giving us eternal life with Him, not because we deserve it because none of us do, but so that in ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus!  And because of His great mercy upon us, because of His great love for us, He is giving us not what we deserve, but what we do not!  This is the grace of God!
Now that we know just what the grace of God is, how is it that we are saved and given eternal life?

Ephesians 2:8-9

For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast.”
We have been saved through our faith, faith that Jesus Christ is who He says that He is, faith that what He tells us is the truth, faith that if we have a change of heart and believe in Him as our Lord and Savior that we will be saved!  If we believe in our heart that Jesus Christ is God, that if we turn from our wicked ways and accept Him as our Lord and Savior then we shall inherit eternal life.  It doesn’t mean that we must change our lives, but that we must have a change of heart towards our sin, that we must acknowledge our sin, profess it and ask for forgiveness.

2 Peter 3:9

“The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.”

1 John 1:9

“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.”

John 3:16-17

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
It isn’t by anything that we have done, not by any of our works that we are saved, only by the grace of God, only by the saving grace of Jesus Christ upon the cross, nothing more, nothing less!  If we say that we have to do something else in order to be saved, such as being baptized in water, then we are saying that we must be saved on the basis of our works.

Romans 11:6

“But if it is by grace, it is no longer on the basis of works; otherwise grace would no longer be grace.”
Once again I must reiterate, we are “only” saved by the grace of God, by the blood of Jesus Christ, “nothing” more!
Now that we know what the grace of God is and just how we are saved, there are many believers who think that they can lose their salvation by their works, is this true?!
I know of not one scripture which tells me that a person who has been saved can lose his or her salvation, yet I hear many arguments from Christians telling me that we most certainly can.  They quote scriptures saying that certain types of people will not inherit the kingdom of heaven, stating that this means we can lose our salvation.  Yet, the bible does not say this, it is merely an inference, a person taking scripture to mean something that it does not say, giving them meanings which are not there.
I also hear some Christians tell me that God can prune us out of our salvation, quoting John 15.

John 15:1-8

I am the true vine, and My Father is the vinedresser. Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit He takes away;and every branch that bears fruit He prunes, that it may bear more fruit. You are already clean because of the word which I have spoken to you. Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.
“I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing. If anyone does not abide in Me, he is cast out as a branch and is withered; and they gather them and throw them into the fire, and they are burned. If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.”
I surely do not see anything here that says believers will lose their salvation, it is merely inferred by some.  I on the other hand see just the opposite!
Jesus tells us that we are already clean if we are saved, and that we can only bear fruit if we are saved.  He also says that every branch that bears fruit He prunes so that it may bear more fruit.  He molds us and chisels us into being more like Him, bearing more fruit, He cuts away the sin in our lives and makes us more righteous and holy.  He only casts us out if we are not in Him, if we are not saved.  I really don’t see it any other way!
Let us consider just a few scripture verses (there are many more) which do tell us that we have “eternal life” and that our salvation is “forever”.

John 10:28-30

“I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. I and the Father are one.”

1 John 2:17

“The world and its desires pass away, but whoever does the will of God lives forever.”

2 Corinthians 4:17

“For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all.”

2 Corinthians 4:18

“I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.”

Romans 6:23

“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.”

John 3:36

“Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them.”

John 4:14

“But whoever drinks the water I give them will never thirst. Indeed, the water I give them will become in them a spring of water welling up to eternal life.”

1 Timothy 6:12

“Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called when you made your good confession in the presence of many witnesses.”

1 Timothy 1:16

“But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his immense patience as an example for those who would believe in him and receive eternal life.”

John 6:27

“Do not work for food that spoils, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For on him God the Father has placed his seal of approval.”

Hebrews 7:25

“Therefore he is able to save completely those who come to God through him, because he always lives to intercede for them.”

Romans 5:21

“So that, just as sin reigned in death, so also grace might reign through righteousness to bring eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”

Ephesians 1:13

“In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise,”

2 Corinthians 1:22

“and who has also put his seal on us and given us his Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee.”

2 Corinthians 5:5

Now He who has prepared us for this very thing is God, who also has given us the Spirit as a guarantee.

Ephesians 1:13-14

In Him you also trusted, after you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation; in whom also, having believed, you were sealed with the Holy Spirit of promise, 14 who is the guarantee of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, to the praise of His glory.
I do not find one verse of scripture which says that a saved, born-again believer in Jesus Christ can lose his or her salvation, on the other hand there are numerous scriptures which tell us that our salvation is eternal and that we have been sealed until the day of our redemption!
Let us consider the following verses:

Ephesians 1:3-12

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before Him in love, having predestined us to adoption as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted in the Beloved.
In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace which He made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence, having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Himself, 10 that in the dispensation of the fullness of the times He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven and which are on earth—in Him. 11 In Him also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him who works all things according to the counsel of His will, 12 that we who first trusted in Christ should be to the praise of His glory.
We as believers in Jesus Christ have been predestined by God to be His holy children!  Adopted as sons by Jesus Christ to Himself, according to His good pleasure of His will, to the praise of the glory of His grace, by which He made us accepted.  If we were predestined to be saved, then why would God in all of His wisdom and knowledge of all things save us in the first place if we could lose our salvation?!  If we are saved to the praise of the glory of His grace, just how would losing our salvation bring any praise to God.  Scripture tells us that He made us accepted, and if He makes us accepted then what can make us unaccepted?
We are predestined to be saved, to the glory of His grace, according to His good will, found blameless by the blood of the Lamb, to the praise of His glory!  Anything else would not, could not be to the glory of His good will or to His glory!  God knows everything, past, present, and future, He knows what we have done and will do, yet He still saved us.  Our eternal salvation is without a doubt in my mind-set in stone!
If our salvation could be lost, then it is not eternal nor is it something that we could place any faith in.  If our salvation could be lost then the crucifixion of Jesus Christ on the cross was not enough to save us from our sins.  And if we truly believe that we could lose our salvation then what good is it for us to be saved in the first place?!  We would always be wondering if we are saved or not saved, if we have committed a sin which has separated from God.

Romans 8:38-39

For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, 39 neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
If we as believers in Jesus Christ cannot rest assured of our salvation, then we are no earthly good to God!  On the other hand, if we can rest assured of our eternal salvation then we can perform God’s will on earth, we can be of use and benefit to God, performing His will with the faith and assurance that He is always with us and will never forsake us!
The grace of God is just that, His grace upon us!  Even though we sin, even though we do not measure up, and even though we deserve just the opposite, He has given to us His mercy and His grace!
The old testament was a period of being under the law, but we are no longer under the law, we are not condemned by the law, we are now under a period of grace, the grace of God Almighty!  We have been set free of the law, given God’s mercy and grace through His Son Jesus Christ!
You can believe what you want, but until you realize and believe that eternal life means just that, eternal, you will always be wondering, always be guessing, and never really knowing what God has given to you.  Just what sin is it that would separate us from God?  Just what must we do to lose our salvation?  And if we can lose our salvation by our works, then isn’t that the same as being saved by our works?  We could just as easily boast that we maintained our salvation by our works, not by the saving grace of Jesus Christ on the cross!
God wants us to know that when we are saved we are always saved!  That His love for us is immeasurable, that His mercy and grace upon us is just that, bringing to Him glory and honor, praise and worship.  No one will ever convince me otherwise!  I rest assured of my salvation, of the fact that I have been sealed forever by the Spirit of Promise, the One who resides within me, who is the guarantee of my inheritance!
It takes faith to believe, and it takes faith to believe in the promises of God!
God bless my friends!  Maranatha!
