GOD'S WORD IS THE BOOK OF LIFE

Commentary By:  Gordon King
Scripture, the word of God, written to us by our Lord, given to us for our encouragement, enlightenment, and wisdom from above!
We are to take comfort in knowing what is coming our way, in knowing that if we place our life, our faith, and our trust in God then He shall always be with us!

2 Timothy 3:16-17

All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work.
We are to read and study God’s word so that we may be equipped in this world and the world to come.  So that we may know right from wrong, and good from evil.
The word of God gives us His wisdom, His encouragement, and His insight.  It allows us to know God more and to become more Christ like.
It allows us to see into the future, to know God’s plans, and to rest assured that we are already victors in a world gone mad!
The word of God is a manual for life, written to guide us through this world.  It contains not only instructions but also life itself!
When we read, study, meditate upon, and truly understand what God is telling us then we have more understanding of just who God is.
As we journey on through this life as true believers, then we should be growing in Christ.  We should be learning, growing, and becoming more like Christ.  We are learning not only what we should be doing now on earth, but also what we will be doing in heaven, how we will be, and how life with Christ is.
The bible not only tells us how to act, it is a blue print for life now and for eternal life.  It contains what we need to overcome, and it contains what we need to increase our faith.  Christianity is so much more than believing, it is a way of life itself, it is having the power of God within us, of being one with God!  It’s about being a new creation, given a new life, eternal life with God.
Many will read some of scripture and not be willing or able to continue, believing that it is just too hard or terrible.  Yet it is all there for a reason, it is there because God wants us to know and not be ignorant.  We must take it all in context, yet within the big picture, from a heavenly perspective, not from worldly wisdom!
The heavenly perspective is that God loves us and wishes for no one to perish!  When we rebel there is a price to pay.  And unless we completely give ourselves over to God, then we will pay the price.  This is what it’s all about, rebellion against God, and God’s plan to restore us back to Him!  The entire bible from start to finish is about God’s plan of reconciliation.
I believe that the bible is so much more than meets the eye, and in fact much more than any of us could truly comprehend!  It contains the truth about life itself, it contains many mysteries, and it contains unfathomable godly wisdom.  I believe that if a person did nothing but study the word of God for his or her entire life time, that he or she would never fully understand Him, nor would the depths of His wisdom and enlightenment ever end!  The wisdom of God is infinite, as is God Himself!
I believe that God’s love for us is so great that it could never end, that it is so immeasurable it could never be truly understood by man!
The word of God is so invaluable to us because it reveals who God is, it enlightens us to His ways, it gives us understanding of the unknown, and it gives us life!
It shows us who we are and who we can become, it allows us to see the sin in our lives and tells us how to overcome.  The word of God gives us the truth about evil spirits and how to overcome them, it empowers us to fight the good fight and how to win battles.  It encourages us to stand firm in our faith, to hold on to what is true, and to withstand the wiles of the devil.
The bible gives us encouragement, comfort, wisdom, understanding, help, and insight.  It tells us how to obtain life, eternal life!
Bible prophecy is a large part of God’s word, we must not despise prophecy, but embrace it as wisdom from above.

1 Thessalonians 5:20

Do not despise prophecies.
Jesus Christ’s life, death, and resurrection was prophesied, and so too is His rapture of the church and His second coming!
The word of God, holy, righteous, and pure, heaven sent.  Let us all study the entire word of God, meditate upon it, and live it in anticipation for our reunion with Christ!
Take comfort in God’s word, be encouraged by its wisdom!
God bless my friends!  Maranatha!

GOD BLESS AND SHARE THE GOSPEL OF SALVATION!
